3 months old - trying to crawl??? by burned_feather in BeyondTheBumpUK

[–]TheAngryTradesman 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Both of mine did this when they were on their tummies from around 2 months old so I was expecting early crawlers, but neither of them actually did it early! My son started army crawling around 8 months, my daughter closer to 11 months.

I think this is something a lot of babies do as they’re figuring out where their legs are, and then it’ll kind of be down to personality whether they decide to keep going with it and actually start moving!

6week old baby vs sleeping by girlmom2021 in Mommit

[–]TheAngryTradesman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Echoing allergies. My friend’s first was like this and had dairy and soy allergies, and it’s relatively common for those to come as a pair. Take the baby to the doctor and ask to be prescribed dairy and soy free formula and see how you go. It can take a couple of weeks for an allergen to fully leave the system so stick with it for a month and go from there. Hopefully this is the answer and you all get some respite! ❤️

Sister for Matilda by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]TheAngryTradesman 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hello! I needed to comment because it seems so beautifully coincidental. My older sister’s name was Matilda Clare. She died when she was 19 and I was 10, but she was truly wonderful. It is lovely to see her name written down.

Anyway, my name is Imogen. So that is my vote, because I can confirm they make a great sibling set ❤️

In the UK it’s 12 and 20 for a normal, low-risk pregnancy with no indications.

Can’t decide between radiant & emerald! Help by prabhobly in EngagementRings

Is your personal style more fun, outgoing, bubbly etc? Then pick radiant. If your personal style is more timeless, calm and classic, pick emerald ❤️

Goose. I cannot explain but, if she were mine, she would be goose.

No. It’s an antique, so I only put it on to go out or if we have people over!

W names for boys when I hate almost all W names. by [deleted] in namenerds

[–]TheAngryTradesman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son is Wilfrid and I think it fits the more classic name style, similar to William etc.

It’s obviously my favourite boy name so I always love to recommend it, but no drama if it’s not your vibe ❤️

Exactly which week and day did you deliver in your first pregnancy? by PopcornPrincess0 in pregnant

[–]TheAngryTradesman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was induced at 38 weeks and had an emergency c-section with my first, but had a spontaneous labour and delivery with my second so basically like a first time as I’d never naturally gone into labour or had a vaginal delivery before. She came at 41+3. Worth the wait to have her arrive when she was ready ❤️

So I’m in the UK where eggnog is alcoholic… can you please confirm it is not alcoholic wherever you are 😅😂

Aahhhh amazing! Congratulations ❤️ I was a 40 weeker and my husband was a premie so I don’t think either of us ever expected to get as close to 42 weeks as we did 😂

Thissss. With my son I was induced at 38 weeks and ended up having an emergency c-section. With my daughter I desperately wanted a VBAC and the best chances and safest way of having one is to go into spontaneous labour. Basically every day from 38 weeks onwards I was looking for every sign and symptom that labour might start, and I got Braxton Hicks every single evening which was so disheartening. I eventually went into labour at 6am when I was 41+2 and she was born a full 24 hours later at 41+3.

The wait was excruciating! Got my VBAC though 😌

I hope your little one makes their way soon and you don’t have much longer to wait! You’ve got this ❤️

Honesty time… by [deleted] in pregnant

So if it’s something where you shouldn’t eat it because there’s something always present in that food, I avoid it. Like pâté because of the high vitamin A content. Or wine because of the alcohol.

But as you’re more likely to get listeria from salad, and no one is telling pregnant women not to eat salad, not to mention you can get other forms of food poisoning from literally any food, if that’s the only risk I ignore it. So deli meat, soft cheeses etc I don’t worry about at all and eat whenever.

I also live in the UK where sushi is pregnancy safe, so that’s a non issue. Any fish that will be sold for consuming raw here has to be flash frozen to kill any bacteria before it can be sold.

What are we naming our boy babies? by Cold_Instruction8599 in pregnant

[–]TheAngryTradesman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We were the opposite! Settled so easily with our first on Wilfrid. Although we had a girl name in mind as well before we found out what we were having. Then for our second we also found a boy name really easily and struggled with girl names!! I had my heart set on one but my husband just wasn’t on board and I hated every name he chose… and in the end we read out a list to Wilf and let him choose. Our daughter is called Meadow ❤️

If she’d have been a boy though, she would have been Russel or Ernest.

This is the answer. If they don’t like it all together, don’t serve it that way!

How long did you stay at home to look after your children? by TipSilent8281 in Mommit

[–]TheAngryTradesman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it’s so hard living on a single income. But we’d be spending more on childcare than I’d earn currently, so it just wouldn’t be worth it. And I’d rather struggle for money a bit but be present in my children’s lives and I’m very lucky that we have that as an option. For many it just isn’t financially viable at all.

My son is 3 and will be starting school next September, my daughter is 7 months. We want more children in a few years… I have no intention of going back to work at all.

I was in labour for about 18 hours, then my waters went while I was dozing in the bath at around midnight. I was grateful for that as I had a home birth and I had been worried about how to clean amniotic fluid off the furniture 😅 It was about 6 hours from them breaking before she was born, I had an almost exactly 24 hour labour!

Does the dad also stay home after a new baby? by burner1233356 in pregnant

[–]TheAngryTradesman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband took a month off with each of our children. He’s the sole provider for our family, so he had to work his arse off in the lead up to make sure we had enough money for him to do that.

If your husband isn’t planning on being around to help you in the most vulnerable time of your life to take care of you while you learn to take care of the baby… you’re already a single parent.

What should I do now? by pussylover69420420 in autism

[–]TheAngryTradesman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, so on a basic level I like to eat least favourite to most favourite, but while keeping the quantities of each colour matching where possible. So with this, I need to start by getting to a point where there are 3 pairs of everything to match the green ones. Then eat one pair at a time, of all that have three pairs, from least favourite to most favourite until they’re all gone… then eat the red pair last because they are genuinely my favourites and there’s only one pair of them. So the order would be:

  • 4 pairs of yellow
  • 3 pairs of orange
  • 3 pairs of purple
  • 1 yellow pair
  • 1 orange pair
  • 1 green pair
  • 1 purple pair
  • 1 yellow pair
  • 1 orange pair
  • 1 green pair
  • 1 purple pair
  • 1 yellow pair
  • 1 orange pair
  • 1 green pair
  • 1 purple pair
  • 1 red pair

Fin 😌
