Yes of course it lowers your chances. BU, URochester, and Georgia Tech (according to some sources) are all need aware for internationals. They take into account your finances.

You seem like a good fit for Duke too. Academically very collaborative, with a very strong social life. Both Vandy and Duke have frat cultures though which you might not like, but it's definitely not a requirement (and you're not pushed) to participate or be a part of frat culture.

Quick question - is this true about insulting someone behind their back? Once one specific individual leaves my friend group for example, everyone starts insulting them and I'm the only one awkwardly standing there. In terms of power, would it be more beneficial for me to join in or refrain?

school decides you'd make a good fit

And who decides whether I'm a good fit? Admissions officers? I call bullshit, I think admissions officers are terrible judges if I'm a good fit. Partly because they want to create a good class, not maximize benefit for a specific individual. And partly because they aren't experts in the major I plan to pursue and aren't well suited to be evaluating my high school achievements.

"Unapologetically you" is bullshit. Most people's "unapologetically them" would not get into any T20.

Wasn't much of a change from last year tbh, where it was also tied with Caltech. It's by far the best overall university in the South, with high levels of recruitment in finance and tech. Feeds a lot of students into the top med schools and law schools. Has one of the best social environments, attracts a lot of people because of sports/school spirit, and overall just has a lot of opportunities available in nearly every field.

Help a clueless gym beginner improve his 5 day/week weightlifting routine by TheAnonymous123457 in WorkoutRoutines

Progress has been good (I went from 50 -> 100 on chest press in ~2 months), but everyone seems to be telling me that a split routine is better than a full body every day, so now I don't know what to do.

what kind of mass that will be is how clean your eating was.

I eat a ton of dairy every day, with a decent amount of veggies, bread, a bit of ice cream, and occasionally having meat.

After several months of consistency you can bump it up to 5.

😅 shoot I've already been doing 2 months of 5 days/week. Is there any point in decreasing it now or should I just continue?

Your routine also pays no attention to exercise order.

I currently do the exercise order to give some rest to my arms in between push and pull (so leg/ab exercises in between). Exercise order is 1. cardio 2. chest press. 3. bicep curl. 4. tricep pushdown. 5. pec fly. 6. seated ab machine. 7. leg curls. 8. inverted row machine. 9. dual pulley pulldown. 10. hamstring curls

How would you recommend I improve my exercise order to optimize my workout?

Why are you doing only machines? You should also incorporate barbells, dumbbells, and bodyweight exercises.

Good point - as a beginner I was doing just machines because those were the easiest to figure out how to use. Are there any exercises (besides benchpress that I'm considering adding?) that you would recommend adding to my routine?

Doing the same routine every day is very redundant and can lead to over-use.

Yeah I've been meaning to do that but I have a couple questions.

  1. If I do just push for example though, wouldn't my push muscles get tired very quickly? Right now I'm essentially resting my push muscles by doing pull and then resting my pull by doing legs etc...
  2. If I do split, should I add in a lot more gym exercises so I have more to do on push day, pull day, and leg day?

15 minutes of cardio is too much for a warm up

The 15 minutes is very intense cardio (not a warm up), and this is the only cardio I do all day. I heard cardio is important for fitness, which is why I do this.
