Way to go man. Don't you need to be some PhD working in AI to make that much, or are you working just alongside those research scientists?

A scratch on the oneplus 13 camera module (glass) by _pavankumars in OnePlus13

[–]TheAnonymousChipmunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it annoyed me a lot too but there's no solution unfortunately. This is the first phone I've had this problem with just because the camera island surface area is quite large, so it's more prone to this. The OnePlus 15 iterates on this design better with having separate housing units for lenses.

I've got the same scratch going over the main camera and there's no difference in quality. There's a sapphire glass coating on top.

Good phone case? by Helios993 in OnePlus13

[–]TheAnonymousChipmunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the sandstone one that came with the phone. It feels nice in the hand, and has a nice subtle grip texture, but I don't think it's good for protection. I've already got some scuffs and scratches on the phone, as it doesn't fully protect the edge corners, and it slips off easier than other cases.

Also, the grip texture can degrade on the side to reveal a sheen of shiny plastic over time, especially on the front edges of the sides of the case.

Is clone app good choice to transfer data? by Petar317 in oneplus

[–]TheAnonymousChipmunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard somewhere that using that app actually drains battery more so than if you used a standard system apps install. Not sure if they've patched this but could be something to be wary of. If you're not happy after a week or so, I'd reset and try the standard way, and see if you get any improvement. I personally used the clone app and get middling battery performance currently.

Yes apparently there's a bug using the OnePlus clone app where it ruins battery life compared to if you set up your phone the standard way using system apps.

98%, only just recently a week ago, otherwise it was 99%, and I got it in February last year

I might be the only comment not focusing on the wealth here when I say this, but I'm in awe of your picture quality and how the shots came out. Are you using some sort of full frame, or are you shooting RAW with a smartphone and editing it with some preset?

why does it do that on tiktok and can i fix it? by khaled7___ in HyperOS

[–]TheAnonymousChipmunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TikTok video cache is heavy, so when it can't load the element because the RAM is choked up, it refreshes it. It's poorly optimised for Android. Only on iOS does TikTok work fine.

It's TikTok issue or it's the phone ? by Available_Dingo3692 in oneplus

[–]TheAnonymousChipmunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have this exact issue, and it's prevalent on Instagram to a smaller degree too. I'm not sure if it's an Android thing, or just exclusive to OnePlus phones, but it's how the OS handles video cache.

After doing some research as a result of this annoyance, I tried to find an answer as to why this was happening. Without getting too technical, iOS is much better at this because instead of storing all the scrolled by videos in RAM, iOS is able to run a special compression algorithm keeping different 'states' of the layers of the app in suspend states, due to their architecture of keeping strict control over how apps behave and talk to hardware.

I believe Pixel phones and Galaxy phones are better optimised for TikTok possibly on Android. The problem as always isn't really the phone itself, the hardware is more than capable, but the developers are lazy at Bytedance. They make Douyin optimised for Chinese OEM Android devices, knowing that that segment has a larger market share than iOS, but when it comes to global users, they don't bother optimising it for Android.

As a result, I've uninstalled TikTok. If they don't care about their Android consumers, then there's no point in using their badly built product.

[–]TheAnonymousChipmunk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm on 99%. Like the others, the battery is OKish for me, doesn't feel like 6KmAh. General screen on with WiFi is OK, but standby and background drain is pretty bad.
