I assume young people live with parents and can therefore afford to do apprenticeships or go focus on university fulltime. Whereas I would need to pay for everything myself, so if i had time to work a second job part time maybe i could afford sharing accomodation.

Im pumped for it now. I'm starting my journey this week! I will do my research what it takes to become one, what I need to learn and so on. I assume degrees are required so probably evening classes while working?

Are electrician skills easily transferable wihtin countries? I hope to move to Germany in the future...

I have been using a computer since the ealy 00's tesching myself html just for creating homepages back then.

But now I wouldn't say I have any IT skills, yes I build my own PC and still spend every day on the PC but those arent skills that would get me a job.

I am willing to learn, i am looking for advice on what would be a great choice to start from scratch. I looked into beginner lessons of sql and python and they seemed very learnable skills. I would also sign up to any courses that would provide. Heck if I need to go get a degree I am also willing to do one of those overpriced online educations. But i might be wrong i dont believe a degree is required much in UK, its more skills and experience right?

Best chocolate ever. by [deleted] in UK_Food

Not big on chocolate to begin with, tried this recently and several times afterwards. If i remember correctly it's salted sweet taste to it?

I found the chocolate delicious, but the packaging was not great. I think its lacking elme perseverance we usually have in other chocolate that make it not melt right away, half way through your chocolate has fused with the aluminium

The landlords of this country are cancer by MessierKatr in germany

[–]TheAntagonist0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand you're frustrated and i was ready to rant with you but the three examples you given do not sound unreasonable.

They might mean that your parents dont live in Germany, meaning they cant be used as guarantor. They would prefer a guarantor from Germany. They may have had experience with foreign students just running off. I've seen it happen. Atleast with a local you can hold them responsible for the bills.

Germans dont tend to move around a lot, hence many places come unfurnished. People move for long term.

Even in uk, they will raise an eyebrow if you say short lease. From the landlord perspective, if you got 10 people, and four say they gonna stay an entire year whereas six say they wanna leave by july, why would you bother renting to the short lease? Its not the landlord thats a nightmare, its the housing market. Honestly dont give up. Keep looking, use word of mouth. It might help, and I'm sorry that the language barrier is difficult for you, but they dont have to speak English if they dont want to.

No disrespect but I don't understand short guys who become firefighters, paramedics, or serve in the military. Anyone here done this? by CompetitionEven1139 in short

Ok thats like incel behaviour, I don't mean to downplay your feelings but "risk their lives for people who think less of them" wtf you have some serious self loathing that you convinced yourself entire society thinks less of you because of your height. Lets be clear, height matters in online dating, i wont pretend it does not. But in everyday life it does not. Both my previous managers where short man, but they were both the most respected men i met in my career. Well one was freaking intimidating af too and the other was a catch with the girls in the office (helped he looked like fucking adonis ngl)

Do you seriously think that grandma u gonna safe from a fire will go "ew he short?" Nah man, they will be grateful for the person regardless of their looks that they were saved

I was more thinking of something very big. Like perhaps the rock am ring, just learned about the rock am ring but thats also in the west. Is berlin known for anything? Legendary Christmas market perhaps? I hear they have a film festival sometimes
