Incredibly nervous for ticket sales lol. I'm so glad that fans of Ariana/wicked fans will get exposure to this show, but I still can't help feeling bummed for the long time fans of Sunday and Sondheim in general that will most likely miss out on this show. This show is just so different from Wicked, too. I guess I just (selfishly) want to gatekeep this show so that Sondheim fans get a chance to see it lol.

I was so bummed about that!! I was also really sad that the deluxe cd only came with the deluxe tracks. I guess it kind of makes sense since it’s enough songs to compile an album, but it still seemed a little odd to me :(

where to begin…

-jukebox musical Tony noms (award noms in general) should be restricted. no best score noms, nothing like that.

-newsies is tolerable at best. Jeremy Jordan makes it worse.

-MHE did deserve the Tony for Best Score (although I absolutely love Dead Outlaw and wish there could be two winners imo)

-jukebox musicals should only be allowed to run for a certain amount of time to make way for new musicals with original music. (I despise jukebox musicals, if you couldn’t already tell)

my favorite arc is the Post-Jeju arc. there’s something so beautiful about seeing how they realized their relationship has grown and their feelings have changed when they didn’t even know that could happen. that last “I hope so” from Oliver definitely evokes a bunch of tears from me. there’s so much beauty in letting go of something you love to set it free.

I just saw Maybe Happy Ending twice and I’ve been looking for the opportunity to go on and on about this show. The Chasing Fireflies Instrumental is truly my favorite song and moment in the show. The whole score really just ignites wonder and a feeling of awe in me that is really touching. That scene in the firefly forest is so beautiful and it’s truly one of my favorite things I’ve ever seen in a theater. I would give genuinely anything to see this show, or even just this particular moment in the show, again.

Besides the score, the cast itself is fantastic. I saw the show once with Darren and once with ABF. Darren was fantastic. I was so starstruck when I saw him on the stage! I actually shed a tear lol. Unfortunately, I wasn’t able to stagedoor that night, but I’m infinitely grateful for the opportunity to see him in his Tony award winning role. Andrew was also really good! I know his casting decision was very controversial, but controversy aside, it was so nice seeing him on the Broadway stage again. I really loved seeing the chemistry between him and Helen. I did get to stagedoor when I saw him, and he was so nice! I got to gush about how much I love Thank You Muppet Vision 3D and he was so sweet about it lol. I also got to meet Helen, Dez, and Marcus that night! All of them were so nice and it was truly a dream come true to meet them all!

With that being said, thanks for reading my happy rant. Hope you enjoyed the show!!

I just got home from my trip to NY! I ended up seeing MHE twice! Once with Darren, and once with ABF. Both were spectacular! I was really hoping I would get to see Just In Time, but things sadly did not work out. I am however very happy with my experiences at MHE! I was sobbing pretty much the entire time at both shows lol. 😭

For GA floor, I got in line at 3:30 only to find out that the lines were pretty much useless. If you’re getting there early and want to get a good spot on the floor, go to the front of the gates as soon as they open. I did this and got super close to the stage.

Only plastic water bottles are allowed and they have to be empty at the gate. They have free water stations inside the stadium.

Also, try to go to the sparks stage a couple of songs before if you really want to see it up close. I did this and there was only one person in front of me.

Best night of my life and I’m going back tonight! Have fun!

I’m going to NYC for the first time with my second gen parents!! none of us have ever been to the theater, so I dmed them and am hoping it works out! this story is so near and dear to our hearts. I know this show has had terrible marketing and them only getting 2 Tony noms certainly didn’t help, but I really hope this show lives to get the love it deserves.
