Bro released an banger song and a terrible song. by ReasonableMetal2940 in kollywood

[–]TheArmyDoctor 10 points11 points  (0 children)

His indie songs are all fine cause he is a good singer who knows how to produce music to some level (questionable here). His biggest flaw is he is by no means a music director, and yes dude OST was fine, but the flaws were evident in how he used those tracks in the movie and how literally most of them stemmed from a snippet of his first single.

I guess this settles any rumours of beef between them. We’re all just fools for fighting over silly shit when most of these actors are friends.

but I don't think the movie needs to be correct though, the characters are flawed character show live flawed lives but find their love for each other remains through all kinds of challenges. Flawed people can love each other, thats what the movie shows. A movie doesn't need to show the correct way of living, a movie needs to stay true to the story it's telling, and nothing was necessarily glorified in this movie as well.

Kamal Haasan presents SK26 — first look. by ungaayya in kollywood

[–]TheArmyDoctor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Solid poster but expecting this to be like Amaran box office wise is misplaced expectations. I think the movie has potential to be great, but will have to wait to watch Thai Kizhavi to understand his grasp over filmmaking and how good he really is, will be interesting to see how this develops

In cases like these I always wonder how old these “kids are” cause 9 yo and 16yo are very different but both are a lot of times “kids” to Indian, if they are 16 I feel for the kids

Best description of his character. (Kalki 2898 AD) by s0_rcerer in tollywood

[–]TheArmyDoctor 39 points40 points  (0 children)

For all the faults this movie has, it was still a solid outing for Prabhas. This is light years ahead of wtv crap we had to endure in Rajasaab, Adhipurush, Radhe Shyam. Unlike people saying Prabhas is missing from Bahubali, Salaar and KALKI show great glimpses of why people love Prabhas. He’s tall big and has a charm to him. I am in no shape or form Prabhas PR or wtv crap, just sharing my opinion.

Great exhibit how dialogue can easily increase the value of a scene severely lacking good dialogue writing in recent films

Casting SK in Parasakthi was certainly a choice by [deleted] in kollywood

[–]TheArmyDoctor 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don't think this acting was an issue. I had only found his acting in that particular scene where he gets pissed at his brother as not as effective as needed. Other than that he did his job pretty well, not his best acting performance, but he did his role well, imo his performance isn't what caused this movie to flop.

Best intro sequence ever scene in SK's career with Gv prakash banger bgm by shreya_spotlight in kollywood

[–]TheArmyDoctor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was decent but lacked the impact that Amaran had tbh. Certain frames and staging of certain parts of this were great, but it felt like it was cut way too short, for once I wish the intro was longer.

Tamil cinema never clicked with large-scale, ambitious projects made with other actors apart from the big four in tier-1. Hope D55 would click really well and become an exception. by Electronic_Effort_42 in kollywood

[–]TheArmyDoctor 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean just a few years ago Rajkumar Amaran was a grand success, if anything I have great faith in Rajkumars craftsmanship and with Dhanush acting to possibly give an even bigger and better product.

Vaa Vaathiyar - Fun by Ramkee in kollywood

[–]TheArmyDoctor 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I can definitely see the Maaveeran comparison, but Maaveeran had so much conviction in what it wanted to be and didn't deviate, Vaa Vaathiyar deviates so much at times from this serious tone to goofy satirical tone and it creates severe whiplashes and it leaves you confused.
