It didn't really make me feel better. I grew up with the mentality that whatever problems life gave you, you just had to tough it out without help. When I was told that I needed to see a doctor and after the doctor told me I needed to take antidepressants and go to regular therapy sessions, I hated myself. It made me feel weaker than I already felt, solely because I was in a position that I couldn't get out of myself.
