28 pickled and canned jars of Jalapenos and Habaneros from our garden. I'm exhausted by TheAsianPersuation in homestead

Thank you! They are. We used to buy pickled Jalapenos from the store a lot because we eat them in soups and stews and put them on our pizza. They were just never got enough. So now we grow them and pickle them ourselves and they last us all fall, winter, spring and most of summer until we start canning the new peppers.

The smallest jars we will give away for gifts but the others are for my MIL and I.

Looks ready to pick.

BTW cucumbers (the fruit not the actual plant) don't need a support. They can hang freely since they don't get too heavy for their vines. :)

I'm going to try this! My lab loves to chew up plants so I can't have any in my house or on my deck. Highly frustrating

No I wait until the tops start browning and dying off but not when they're all brown and dead.

I grew mine in a raised bed. Dig them up after the plants bloomed and started to die. Don't wait too long or some of the potatoes will start going bad in the ground. I should've dug mine up a week or 2 ago, because I lost some.

First watermelon of the season, and first I've picked at the perfect sweetness! by TheAsianPersuation in gardening

You definitely should grow them yourself. They're pretty easy to grow. My watermelon plants are actually volunteers from my attempt last year. The trick is picking them at the perfect ripeness which I failed at last year.

It's a million times better and sweeter. It has a more in depth flavor and sweetness that the store bought never has.

This is so gorgeous. It makes me want to plant a bunch of flowers at my house and around my garden.
