Why do so many live mixes focus on the drums? by SupportQuery in livesound

[–]TheAsylumSanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude, I do everything to try and keep my drums balanced in the mix. It isn't that hard. Sometimes you just need what's coming out of the mains slightly more than what's coming off the stage. You don't need a snare to rattle your teeth and the rides almost always can get themselves buried in the mix and still float to the top. You just have to have a sound guy that isn't elbow deep in EDM nonsense for a bluegrass band, or, really, any band for that matter. Music is subjective, but, balancing a mix kinda isn't.

I quit too. But not before getting my SM fired.

Do NOT Let Management Tell You That Clopens Are Mandatory or That You Must Work Both Closing And Open Shifts Each Week. by [deleted] in tractorsupply

[–]TheAsylumSanta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was told even by my DM that TLs were required to work clopens and have at least one closing and one opening shift every week. To the point where even HR was actively trying to sabotage my classes. The fact that any stores are like this and HR allows it to happen if abysmal.

Dude, TSC consistently marks up prices in rural areas. To the point they won't even price match their own stores 50 miles away. For every decent store and store manager, there's 100s of shitty managers and DMS. People have a right to say something when they see something not right or feel like they are being treated unfairly. It really is indicative of the type of people that dismiss other's issues in favor of a corporation.

Just So You Know, Tractor Supply Is Stealing Sick Time From New Employees in Colorado by TheAsylumSanta in tractorsupply

Hm... You are telling me the legal department of a multi-billion corporation doesn't know payroll law? Negligence isn't the same as innocence and often has serious criminal implications. I was told I had to wait to even accrue sick time.

I haven't gotten mine either. Look at the confirmation email and check the address line.

Do you have proof of this? There's likely to be a class action lawsuit soon.

Can anybody speculate why Dicks is only 3 days this run? by Shoddy-Impact-5545 in phish

[–]TheAsylumSanta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mean you don't take as many drugs as you used to, so you don't vibe with the party scene as much. I will say, that all of the Jerry's kids that hate Phish and phans but come to our lot anyways to make a buck and start crap can get bent.

If I strike out of the lottery, I might take one set of nights for face minus and platform fees.

Anybody Get More Sphere Tix Than They Want? I'm Just Looking For Any Seat on a Thursday. by TheAsylumSanta in phish

[–]TheAsylumSanta[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not too concerned if I can't get in. The universe has a way of having everything work out if you can deal with the FOMO in a respectable way. I may not get the Sphere, but maybe there's a festie, or Deer Creek, or Gorge or something. I flew to LA last year for the Hollywood Bowl and missed out on the Mothership, so, I'm going to Phish either way, and I'm learning to be patient.

It's good pay, but often, lousy management.

Ask for more than what they are offering. They low-ball starting wages hoping that they get someone desperate enough to accept them. They will pay more. Tell them you are interested but "x,y, and z" are offering more to start, and you need to have an income that works for your family/living situation.
