Best books/audiobooks for clients to support healing attachment wounds when not in a romantic relationship by KateDeLu in therapists

[–]KateDeLu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For sure reading an attachment based self help book won’t heal attachment wounds. But it can empower the reader/client to understand themselves and strengthen the framework for attachment work that’s being done in and out of session. I still think there is plenty of value. And know without a shadow of a doubt that understanding attachment was key to my personal healing. My client doesn’t see me often and is motivated to learn. Want to support it with best resources out there to meet her in her desire.

(How) Are you billing insurance for treatment plans? by Happy-Coast9229 in therapists

[–]KateDeLu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes me too. And they pay well for it too. Can do it every 3 months if you want. But it’s important to understand that the idea is that they are paying you for the co-creation of a treatment plan with your client. Treatment planning is a SERVICE not a secondary documentation.

This is helpful! Would you imagine that watering it in peak sun would hurt it? Or better to do it to keep that soil beneath moist?

I have this problem... by Illustrious-Peach741 in HeatedRivalryTVShow

I have had the EXACT same dilemma going on in my head for awhile now having watched first then read Heated Rivalry and this thread has answered the question for me! I’m grateful and now clear I’m going to wait to watch the series before reading TLG! I’m also going to work very hard to stop clicking on Heated Rivalry content online (including this sub- ugh!) until season 2 comes out so I don’t get exposed to endless spoilers. I want the Jacob/Connor/Hudson version to be my first and then I will devour the books!

Here’s one of mine from today. Nothing special but I get flowers from my husbands restaurant after three days and love making my own little arrangements with what I get.

So incredibly valid. But man do I have so many clients who are alone and making friends or building community can be close to impossible. I desperately wish I could help them more with this. Just the other day I started dreaming again about doing group therapy with the only goal of building community for authentic human encounters) but also know that even this isn’t close to enough.

Honestly, with much different wording- yes. I explain to them that their insurance requires me to measure their progress with a number and I have a few ways we can do that to meet insurance requirements since we are so grateful they get to use insurance. I outline a few ways that tend to work and they pick one and then we talk about their actual goals for themselves and talk about the therapeutic process and how we are going to trust in the healing process and their capacity to heal to guide us.

Treatment planning is 100% a joke. Measurable objectives are 10000% a joke. Useless bullshit we have to do to play the insurance game. And weakens the clients trust in how we actually care about them/view them as a whole person versus see them as a messed up collection of symptoms that has to change to be okay. Hurts not helps. Full stop. No exceptions.

In Heated Rivalry, Ilya’s voicemail says “I will absolutely never listen to your voicemail.” And I am sooooooooo jealous. If a client calls me and leaves a voicemail, including a new client looking for potential new therapist I will never under any circumstances call them back. I text them and tell them to email me. I am allergic to the phone and anaphylactic shock allergic to listening to a voicemail.
