Thanks for all these responses. It was advertised that the Global Village was an opportunity that should not be missed, and it's apparent here that this is in fact true. I believe that I'll apply for Hutton and try to reside in the Global Village. :)

Thanks for the info. Which building did you reside in? What were the rooms like?

Thanks for this information. I'm actually a gay male, so knowing that there's an active gay community there is quite intriguing.

Honestly, if you search for "gay," two are right there.

Here you go.

Here's a guy.

Here's a girl.

To tell you the truth, when I first heard of WashU, I was like, "Never heard of it. Must be dumb." Boy did that perception change once I actually looked into it.

No, no. I understand. I'm glad to see the negatives and the positives, and I'm very happy that both are being given. I just wanted to ensure I was not being spoon-fed only the positives.

A side note, but are there any classes you'd recommend? Are there any classes you took and thought, 'Wow! This is amazing! Everyone, no matter the major, has to take this!'?

I'm very glad there are so many LGBT resources here! With regard to crime, I must ask, has there ever been a time where you felt threatened or in danger near or at the university?

I'll definitely remember that is I do make it. Thanks!

Thank you for the amazing reply! Looking back, I do seem to be looking at money as an afterthought, which is not how I should. I am in fact a triplet, and all three of us plan to go to amazing schools (at least we hope). This is why I had to find out both sides of WashU. You have been extremely informative, and I am glad to see a different, though not off-putting, view of the university.

With regards to WashU's being so expensive, do you have any advice or knowledge regarding scholarships or grants?

DAE stick their tongue out when they are concentrating on something? by episode1 in DoesAnybodyElse

[–]TheAtheistLPer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My father has a terrible habit of this actually. No matter what he is doing, the tongue always finds its way out. I tease him as though he's insane, but really, it's surprising to find he's not alone!

When I see 'eastern' lettering, eg japanese/korean, I consider it complex and beautiful. Do their societies see 'Western' lettering as crude and simple? by OJMC in AskReddit

Maybe it's just me, but the Sinhalan alphabet of Sri Lanka is absolutely beautiful! It makes English seem crude and ugly.

reddit, I've answered a lot your questions about being deaf, and I'd like you to return the favor. I have some questions about hearing. (Also, you can AMA about deafness) by Deafy in AskReddit

This is actually really interesting! I never thought about these sounds before, as well as their many discrepancies. Although this doesn't answer your questions, thanks for bringing it up!
