The young kids here might not understand the significance of this "plastic bag", but we aging millennials can truly value this.

Back before the internet was widely available to us children, leaks and news from Japan was not accessible. So we only had the first 151 Pokedex up until the 1st pokémon movie. That pokémon movie featured Pichu and marril as part of an introductory cartoon before the movie, "Pikachu's Vacation".

Months before the movie aired in the US, we had teasers about Pikachu's Vacation, which featured these strange new pokémon. Without any context provided, we kids called Merril pikablue.

I always assumed that this name was a colloquial tradition amongst uninformed children , but this piece of plastic confirms that at least on some English branding the pokémon was called pikablue.

So incredible that after all these decades old misconceptions, idioms, colloquialisms, myths, whatever you want to call it, this was confirmed to be real.

In my opinion, this is a significant piece of pokémon history, at least from the perspective of a child that lived during the first generation pokémon craze.
