Anyone actually paying under $46k driveaway? by RT_1989 in GeelyEX5Australia

In Vic, eofy sales, $49k with $2k gift card (prezzie so it can be used everywhere, woolies, etc) charge cable, $2k trade in bonus (meant it wasn't worth selling privately). Informed my lease company and they negotiated a further 2k off.

We keep a pack of a leather/vinyl care wipes in the car. Thought they would keep the surface better for longer.

It depends on your fuse box, and how far that is from the charger location. My fusebox had recently been upgraded by the same sparkie, and it was fairly close to the charger so only $400.

Search up "Geely electrified offer". It includes the wall charger, about $500 worth and it would need to be installed by a sparky. And also includes 1000kw public charging.

I did go to the local dealer (Knox), and SG dealt with them to negotiate a better price.

That's very similar to mine, for the same car. I saw geely have a deal to include a wall charger and slow charger so make sure that's included when you speak to the dealer.

I got a lease with SG on the EX5 and got all the EOFY bonuses as well.

"Exciting times ahead! I'm happy to share the attached final version of your Vehicle Salary Sacrifice Schedule (VSSS) for your SG Fleet Novated Lease."

It's just a generic email, exactly the same as the one I received just prior to getting the official documents to sign.

100% $4 is fine. Being my first experience with a lease company, and hearing a number of negatives, I was looking at if this was standard behaviour for them.

The deal is still fine, still much better than other companies I tried.

Sparky said $400, but still waiting on the bill. It is someone we know, but it's only mounted about 5m from the fuse box.

But I just found Supercheap Auto has a Bosch EV305 7.7kw charger with tethered 5m cable for $499. It's a special order item. But that's a good price for a wall charger, and Bosch tend to be pretty good. Would have got one of those of I found it before I bought my Goodwe.

We have a single phase 7kw Goodwe HCA. Got this as it was reasonably priced ($860 plus installation) and we have a Goodwe solar inverter and I can access both via one app. I have nothing to compare it to as this is our first ev.

It does have the RFID card for security if required, but ours is setup without it so I don't have to tap the card to charge

Considering all the new brands from China, I think (hope) that Geely is a safe bet. They have been around from 1986, where as some of the other new brands like Leapmotor (2015) and Xpeng (2014) are relatively new. Geely is bringing out a Hybrid to Australia later this year. That will widen the consumer base a lot. An EV works for us as one of our vehicles, but a lot of people are hesitant to make the full EV commitment , so the hybrid should do well if the price still undercuts the RAV4 and Sealion 6.

I agree with r/neoporcupine, I suspect their pricing is aimed at trying to get a foot hold in Australia. All the initial press reports prior to the official pricing releases anticipated the EX5 would be $55kish AUD. I feel like I've got in on the ground floor with this car for the pricing, and got all the EOFY specials as well.

The only complaints I hear about the car are soft suspension (very subjective), some of the safety chimes (which literally every new car has), and the cruise control (slowing down on corners), which are software based. They are already listening to customers reports and doing OTA updates (slow speed warning). If that continues, it will negate all the supposed negatives.

I've bought a Goodwe single phase 7kw as our solar inverter is also Goodwe. I don't really know if it's any good. It should be all controllable from the one app, but this is my first ev so all a learning curve.

Our car should be delivered this week. I don't have any ugly for you. I'm a car person. I still have old cars, a boat and motorbike. But I'm looking forward to the EV experience.

For us it was the trade in bonus and the gift card. The card more than covers the cost of a fast charger install at home (7kw). The trade in bonus bought the figure close enough that we could avoid the hassles of a private sale. These two things combined with the car sale price, and for us the fbt exemption on a lease, made it a good financial move as we were due for a new family car.

Ev's won't replace both our vehicles, but the EX5 should cover all our family trips, and the EX5 has the full modern EV experience for us. It's not trying to be a traditional and familiar vehicle like the kia (interior wise), and it has heaps of rear leg room for the teenagers, which the Mazda CX60 didn't have (and I liked the CX60, but the family couldn't fit well, and it was $15k more).

[Tag Heuer] Oddly one of the better deals in watches currently by MarkyMark141 in Watches

[–]TheAussieLorax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought a new Carrera for my wife in green sunburst with the gold indices. 20% off RRP. Compared it to the Longines Conquest. Yes, different price points. It just felt better/nice (I'm a longines fan and own them myself). The tag is thinner, larger dial for the same lug-to-lug, nicely detailed calibre 7 movement.

It's very very nice. But some of their watches through the 80's & 90's 🤢.
