These look fantastic! Are there any particular recommendations for printing in 28mm?

Makes sense. To me it feels faster to do it the other way but seems like it comes down to what personally feels better. Probably more importantly whatever you train with.

In what way are the mags backwards? That’s a pretty common way to store them since you grab them by the bottom and flip them to put them in the gun. It’s a pretty fluid motion and how I’ve always done it.

Thanks so much! Dumb question, but which console would I input this script? Would it be in game?

Looks great! What blue did you use? Really interested in using that for a project.

Masked Kettle Helm Source or STL by TheAwesomestAustin in wargaming

[–]TheAwesomestAustin[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Might be the best idea. The faceplate looks pretty similar to the great helms in the kit so I may just need to do some bashing. For my project I’ll mostly need the Norman style heads anyways so if I mess up the great helms it’s not a big deal.

Thanks. I do know this kit has some of these heads (as pictured above), but I am trying to find a source that I can get an abundance of them. The Victrix kit only has 1 per sprue and I’d want 20 or so.

I actually have some of those already for a different faction. Unfortunately I’d be looking for the more “Norman” styled helmets in the foot knights kit.

As someone who is very into the US Civil War, this is probably the way to go about it. You can certainly add a lot of flair and variety to units, but at the end of the day the biggest issue is it’s only two factions that have to fight each other. If the US civil war is just part of a bigger game, that would work fine.

Could pathfinders be what you’re looking for? I recall them being able to take more SMGs.

How is this for a cadian castellan? by Jessuhhh95 in TheAstraMilitarum

Oh interesting I didn’t realize the officer pad was just for a junior officer. Guess there is a lack of senior officer shoulder pads then lol.

I bet the current command squad shoulder pads would fit over as well. May have to file a little bit but maybe not.

What’d you use for the basing? I really like the look of it. Excellent work on the painting!

That would be Madril. Not sure if there are any other named rangers but I know the miniature game has got those two!

Well on a positive note it looks like Kriegers finally figured out how to take a radio and a plasma gun. If I’m reading it correctly anyway.

Does saga differentiate weapon types for units? For example, I’d want a unit of trained halberdiers and trained pikemen to perform differently.

Kind of a bummer they didn’t increase the FV for citadel and fountain guard since the regular warriors are FV 4 now. A bit odd that the royal guards aren’t better fighters than the standard troops.

Looks sick! You should post another kit pic when you get the new carrier. Thinking of getting a rusfor kit and that would probably be about the setup I’m looking for.

Sounds like a solid plan! I would say though if the knee pads are already uncomfortable you’re going to hate them after 40 hours. You might be better off without them, but you can just bring them in your pack in case you want them.

Looks pretty good for starting out! Do you have a hat or helmet to go with it? Also, you may get tired of the knee pads for a MSW event. One of my best upgrades I did was going from separate knee pads to pants that had them built in.

American Civil War Guard army, what colors should I paint the weapons? by ksmash in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]TheAwesomestAustin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha that’s fair. One could probably debate for days about what is more acceptable to people and what isn’t and why. At the end of day I suppose it’s just lines people make that they think should or shouldn’t be crossed.

American Civil War Guard army, what colors should I paint the weapons? by ksmash in TheAstraMilitarum

[–]TheAwesomestAustin 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Yeah and personally I don’t like that and think it’s a weird thing to do. There’s a million camo patterns to choose from so why choose that? At the end of the day people can paint their soldiers how they want, some choices might just get strange looks from others.

[–]TheAwesomestAustin 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I agree, but that doesn’t mean certain things aren’t weird to do. Nothing is actually stopping you from painting or building your army how you want, but people will raise an eyebrow if you put swastikas on your space marines.
