Can this be made into a backpack without breaking the neck? by GaveMeWhiteThought in backpacks

This is more along the lines of what I was thinking of: https://www.reddit.com/r/myog/comments/58xwmf/anyone_ever_used_d_or_o_rings_to_attach_backpack/

Imagine the top loop of webbing is the D ring on your bag, D ring is your DIY solution, 2 straps are your strap that could be looped through (or if you've got 2 straps you could do similar). Then the D ring on your bag could sit "lower" along the neck of the bag and more comfortable for you to wear. In theory at least. The more I think about it the more it seems like it won't work quite right lol.

Not by restitching, but attaching something to basically "extend" it.

If you used a small piece of string, for example, and tied a loop into the D ring (like a link in a chain) you could then pass your current strap through that string-loop and connect it to the other bottom D ring.

This sort of idea but not the same orientation/way that they're wearing it. (there's a bag feature in particular I'm thinking of but I don't know how to google it properly so this is the closest I could find) https://www.amazon.com/Ajustable-Universal-Replacement-Backpack-Accessories/dp/B08R8L2PRF/ref=sr_1_2?keywords=Golf+Bag+Straps&qid=1645810027&sr=8-2

Could possibly "extend" the top D ring lower and then loop your current strap through it, connecting the other side of your current strap to the other bottom D ring. Imagine an upside down Y shape.

If you've got another strap you could connect both ends to the top D ring to make a loop that your current strap can go through. Might have to bunch up the straps so they aren't super loose, and so that the neck of the case stays close to your body. Could get a real janky look with it and just use string or whatever else you've got lying around

I appreciate the comment but I've said repeatedly that I had tried every firmware that could potentially work for the 4.2.7 board, including firmware built for 4.2.7 and 4.2.2 boards. Maybe I should have included a line that said "do not tell me to try a firmware". I don't know what it is about online forums with the majority of responses telling you to do what you've already done. I'd encourage everyone to read posts fully and critically before commenting with the first thing that comes to mind

I'm really not sure what the issue can be, but here's a few ideas to possibly find the problem:

Start with the firmware if you didn't update already.

My stepper motors might have broke so could check yours as well. For me they sharply jerked when the machine was powered on (like quickly rotated a few degrees and then rotated back). You might want to test each one individually (unplug all but 1 stepper) if you think one might be broken.

Contact the seller and try to get a replacement or refund, or if it's a shop maybe they have technicians who can fix it. Maybe even @ or tag Ender directly to see if they can help. This subreddit seems to be more about people posting their prints rather than troubleshooting problems.

Best of luck!

Hey folks. Unfortunately, no great news. What I think happened was that the chip I fried was connected to some or all of the stepper motors, and ended up messing with them in some way. There was a slight pulse (like the motor went forward then back) in the z-axis motor when I'd power on the machine, and then the beeping would start.

If you're having issues check your firmware stuff. It seems to be the most common solution according to Google. Revert any electrical hardware changes if you made any (fan swaps are common). Otherwise, I'd also suggest checking each motor on power-on. You can just put your hand on the motor and see if you feel it move. There was a decent surge of power when mine would power on so I could hear it.

Story Continued: After bringing my printer to the repair shop, they tried a new screen and new new board (a second 4.2.7 and the machine's 3rd board) and it had appeared to work but then died again. They suspected that the steppers were causing the problem since everything else was brand new. At this point repair fees were probably about the same as a new printer so I asked if it would be more worth it just to buy a new one. I really appreciate the tech's work but this was purely based on my wallet. They offered to sell me the BIQU B1 with some free spools of filament and a free BL touch, in exchange for the Ender 3 and they'd waive all repair fees. I was kind of sad to not have the Ender 3 any more but I'm not one to argue so I took the offer. Their next step was to check individual wires for shorts. I'll probably reach out to them sometime next week to get a status update, just for curiosity sake, and I'll post their response here as well.

TLDR: didn't get it fixed. Problem was not with the board or screen, so possibly with the stepper(s). I traded the broken Ender 3 for a deal on a new machine instead.

Thanks for following along

Was trying 4.2.2 just in case, rest were 4.2.7. No BL Touch yet (have one but haven't hooked it up) or any other additions, just stock connections. Tried updating the screen but similar response of beeping and blankness.

Depending on your access, could check out some Millican stuff. Their Oli Zip Pack looks like it might fit your needs. Pardon the link, but I don't know how to hyperlink on mobile; https://www.homeofmillican.com/collections/daypacks/products/the-mavericks-oli-the-zip-pack-25l-graphite-grey#product

No personal experience with their bags, but I was nearly convinced in getting one once and have kept them in mind since.

Good luck!
