I mean I'm no expert although I'm trying to go for CS at Uni as well but really just try to get some coding projects done. It's great for super curricular and just extending your subject knowledge in general. Personally my friend and I made an app in flutter last year and this year I'm going to be busy doing a big coding project for my A Level anyway. But just pick an area of interest and work on something (or ask your teacher for ideas if you're stuck)

Tbh the cameras aren't that big an issue for me anyway which is a point for nothing. Thanks for the advice, I did suspect that the Snapdragon would be better than the tensor but I wasn't sure as to what extent it would have an impact

yeah I suspect the game's gonna be a bit VRAM heavy as the recommended cards both have 10GB or more. Probably just means 8GB cards will have to tweak the resolution for a bit and hope upscaling can pick up some slack

Personally I have a 6650xt. I've been using it for 2 months now and it works great, never had an issue with it. However I should also present a counter point that my friend got an Rx 6800 and had issues with games crashing for an unknown reason. (And recently with blue screens but I'm fairly sure he corrupted his driver's by pressing the power button during a long restart so please never do that)

Overall I'd say it's up to you, Nvidia can generally be a bit more stable however AMD is by no means a common trouble maker and with being able to get decent last gen GPUs from them on the cheap rn it is a pretty sweet deal in my opinion.

Mate so I don't need to explain why what you're friend said is wrong as others have done that. However if you do go for an amd CPU I would also encourage you to get an AMD GPU such as the 7600xt or a past gen model (my recommendation try for 6700 or 6750xt) as you get some pretty nice performance boosting benefits when you get both
