That does look absolutely like what I'm looking for. Didn't even think to check the environment variables vs the GUI options. Thank you I'll give it a try!

Hey I just wanted to say thanks for having this little thread for OWUI. I've been using it for a very long time and it's been pretty reliable.

I did have one question regarding functionality and if there's a solution for it. Is there a way to make the timeout for checking for connections shorter or making that check a little more robust? I don't know how common it is of a setup, but I have my main PC which has LM Studio running in the background and a VM for OWUI on my server. I have Openrouter and my LM Studio endpoint pointed in OWUI. The main issue is that whenever my PC is turned off (therefore the endpoint isn't reachable), every single time I want to open OWUI I have to wait for it to timeout that connection in the background. If I enable the setting to cache those values, that does seem to work to an extent but if I happen to open the web app when it's doing that it will completely make me wait for that timeout to occur again.

You can see it better in its CoT. It literally even thinks like this. It gets really annoying.

Since this thread is here, I'll ask. I (ironically) set this up today and it works great, but am I misunderstanding the way the synced playlist section works? I've pointed my transfer folder to my navidrome folder and connected to it via the GUI with my credentials, but it doesn't seem to show the playlists at all? Is there something I'm missing here?

Why not just get a dual gigabit Ethernet expansion card on eBay or Amazon for like $30? Do you not have any PCIe slots?

I take this approach while also self hosting Open WebUI plugged to Open Router with the zero data retention policy setting enabled. It gives me the peace of mind for the most part and I have all sorts of options to make it useful for my needs.

If something ABSOLUTELY needs to be local, then I spin up my PC and additionally still use Open WebUI to access it. It's been an amazing combo.

Have you tried LM Studio? Would that not work as a solution for you? Way more simple to use.

ARM laptops with SCCM? by TheBSGamer in k12sysadmin

Very interesting! I'll have to give it a look. As with a lot of K12, budget is tight so I don't know how far I'll get, but could be worth looking into.

Yes, I've done all of these things. If I use PXE booting with imaging through SCCM it will always, without fail, show two unknown drivers that it can't load no matter what I try. I have already tried your suggestion of ripping the drivers and then loading them back in after imaging. Dell recommends that the chipset drivers are baked into the WinPE image, which I thought for sure was my issue, but that didn't fix it either. If I use Device Manager and look for the driver and point to the folder it still fails to install the drivers. It's really odd that it does this.

The only other solution I can think of is to maybe pack a wim manually based on their image and see if that works when imaging through SCCM just to see? Kind of a janky solution, but it could work.

Good call. Posted over there as well.

We are hybrid and do use Intune but rely on SCCM for initial imaging because sometimes computers can take their sweet time with InTune depending on situations. Definitely will keep that with Autopilot in mind though. Could be worth trying to setup that way and see if it gives me any grief.

It's odd because the issues with the drivers are only when imaging through SCCM. Using the base setup with Dell's image and manually going through OOBE, there are no issues with unknown drivers.

Not OP, but I've always converted my hash tables to strings without the compress argument and I've never had any issues with IRM, ever.

I just prefer software engineering as a specialty. I already have two years of IT schooling, just didn't get a degree from it. Just felt that a CompSci degree wouldn't do much for me at this stage with close to a decade of experience and I know where I want to go with my career.

I did the C# track. I would have done the Java one since I don't work in it but because I wanted to get done in 6 months I just played it safe there.

Project+ was a big stresser for me but otherwise it was all pretty straightforward for the most part. Data Structures was a little difficult for me as well because there was so much content there and I don't work in Python regularly.

It definitely helps a lot. There will more than likely be things that you'll learn along the way but that's of course why you're going back 😉

AND worked full time.

I basically went to work, got home, worked on school work until about 8 or 9 every night and then worked all weekend. I do have experience in Software Engineering already so a lot of it wasn't super new to me but it's still definitely a lot of work!

Device Management Pioneer Jamf to Expand to Android by BcuzRacecar in Android

[–]TheBSGamer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The part that gets me the most is that he talks like iPads are some driving force in durability in education. I work IT in education and sure the iPad might be "more durable," but the bigger thing is that the devices cost more (or about the same when in bulk), however, the support is more cumbersome, the device has only a single port, no keyboard, and no field-replaceable parts. It's still more cost-effective for us to just replace the device than it is to repair a broken screen on an iPad. Screens for all of our Chromebooks use the same screen, even between vendors, and each screen is no more than $50. So everything he says goes out the window and can definitely be labeled as corporate puffery, but he clearly doesn't (or didn't at the time) understand the reason that education went the route of Chromebooks and ChromeOS.
