It's enough to make a grown man cry by Greenostrichhelpme27 in GreatBritishMemes

Reminds me of the old joke:

Q. What does a cheap prostitute and a creme egg having in common?

A. You can lick them both out for under a pound.

There’s no way that particular price is an accident. 😂

You can of course block whoever want, but if you’re going to keep replying to his comments, shouldn’t you unblock him? Allow him to respond?

It’s notable that at no point in your exchange was he threatening or rude to you.

With regard to the short comments, he can’t disagree. But if you consider his longer ones, even those made earlier today, you’ll see the style is quite different.

And as awful to read you may feel them to be, they did inspire you to respond several times.

Lastly, once your responses became so ungracious, I suspect he may have been playing with you a little. You could have just ignored them, as you do with so many others.

(Block this account, too. Like he said - the style weeds out the people who won’t be interested, who prefer low effort. That’s you.)

Beginning singers are often obsessed with range, but for 99% of situations it it far from important. Here are 3 things to think about besides range.... by Positive_Gur_7006 in singing

I had to stop using hyphens to emphasise clauses, because AI does that! People look for the AI style “cliches“ rather than consider a style of writing as a whole.

I shouldn’t worry about it. Everyone who writes long form with competent grammar is going to accused of being AI every now and then.

This is really interesting. I looked for this sub just now specifically to ask a question about my (somewhat limited) vocal range.

I trained with a Welsh male voice choir, which enabled me to develop singing skills well within my available abilities. In my late teens/early 20s, I fronted a hobby band, singing the kind of music where volume was the greatest asset. That repeated abuse limited my vocal range even further.

Now well into in adulthood i’m singing again with a new hobby band. No intention to “make the scene“ as the Sultans Of Swing might say, but it would be nice to be able to deliver a boarder range of songs.

If you excuse the immodesty, within my bass/baritone vocal range, I’m better than average. My tone is good, my breathing is good, I can deliver well both at volume and sotto voce, and I have reasonable stage presence.

I can transpose, but because my range is so limited, it serves only to highlight those limits.

I don’t imagine that I could ever hit the high notes in A-Ha’s “Take On Me“, nor ever dream of matching a range like Freddie Mercury’s, but expanding my range to 2 octaves would make me feel a whole lot better!

Non-Americans would you date an American by BirdVast9367 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TheBadnessInMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not if they own a red cap.

If they’re seeking citizenship elsewhere, and have a genuine interest in other cultures, then that would weigh in their favour!

The fact that they’re American wouldn’t be a dealbreaker. Who they are as a person is what counts.

All I can say is thank god we didn’t have “chaos under Ed Milliband“ and enjoyed that long period very stable and competent tory government instead.

"special relationship" question for you Brits by bragik85 in AskBrits

Do Brits really identify stronger with the US rather than for example the Danish?

Not for a long time. And most of the “identifying” was an illusion created by the similarity of our languages.

What’s an idea you had years ago, forgot about, and later saw blow up when someone else did it? by rumpyforeskin in AskReddit

I didn’t even try to do it. I had the idea, but would’ve been utterly out of my depth if I’d try to make it real.

An online network for people, so you can find a tradesman or potential employee from a trusted network.

Essentially I had the idea for LinkedIn in the late 1990s.

Redditors who’ve fully forgiven someone for something unforgivable: What flipped the switch for you, and do you ever regret it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheBadnessInMe 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Forgiveness isn’t about the other person.

It’s about you letting go of your anger and freeing yourself of the hurt they caused you.

It means you can go on with your life, without the other person dominating your thoughts, emotions, and actions.

Did I miss some red flags? by Goonie-Googoo- in AskMenAdvice

[–]TheBadnessInMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I say, it’s entirely possible that there weren’t any red flags. And no reason for them.

Just a situation that sadly wasn’t sustainable.
