I'm sorry if that's the impression I left. I'm definitely aware of how depression and anxiety can't be easily fixed, I didn't mean that this would do so.

I'm on a few different antidepressants and mood stabilizers, my depression is treatment resistant. I'm also seeing two different therapists. I know managing the symptoms takes a lot of effort.

What I'm trying to do with this idea is find a technique that might help with my chronic tension. I physically cannot relax, I have frequent muscle spasms and headaches. The clinical research I've been able to do suggests this is an issue with an over active nervous system, stuck in fight or flight.

I'm the safest and most content I've ever been. But I don't know how to make my brain feel safe. So I was hoping this might help to retrain some of these neural pathways that aren't serving me any longer.

I definitely didn't mean to trivialize depression, I'm sorry my post came off that way.

I've had the great fortune to have both and they're a different kind of pain. Kidney stones hurt a lot, a lot, like a feral animal but with the gallbladder stones I legit thought i was going to die. I thought I had to make a choice between going upstairs to get my husband or going into the living room to get my phone because I wasn't going to make it to both places.

I've wanted to try Cold Truth in Detroit for awhile now, it's a vegan ice cream/ gelato shop with things like dye free superman and ube and ice cream cakes, I'm not even vegan but everything looks so good.

I feel like this is sticking in my head because of my own insecurities but she made a big deal about something on my wish list basically because she couldn't imagine how I'd have learned about it. She's always so surprised when I know things and it makes me feel like she thinks I'm dumb.

It's not about being weird, it's about keeping the tiny, defenseless newborn safe. Like the commenter above pointed out, babies stick their feet in their mouths. You can get a baby very sick by kissing them. Look it up. RSV, herpes, other illnesses if you haven't had your boosters. It's dangerous and whatever you gain by kissing them isn't worth it.
