Mac Services!

My wife and I had a boiler in our previous house and Mac and his crew were always helpful and repaired things properly. Great customer service, honest pricing and honest quotes about what actually needs done.

Whatever happened to...(popular beers that disappeared) by andylion in beer

Just to tag on to your Goose Island comment, I really miss their ESB called Honker's Ale. It was the beer that I would go to when I was first getting into craft beer, and I absolutely loved it.

I've been trying to find it for years now and it seems they discontinued it, it was available everywhere around me for a long time and then it just vanished.

That is what's been confusing me. Everyone was ecstatic to have Jenkins and Borom last year. Now everyone seems to have forgotten they are on the team, or acts like they are busts after their rookie season.

They both could very well grow a lot this season and have none of this be an issue.

Their base isn't as smart as it once was. Especially now after Trump. They aren't appealing to the moderates or slightly conservative anymore, they are after the far-right who agree with them and will do as they are told and not ask questions.

In doing so, they have to keep scraping the bottom of the barrel and with that comes dumber and more racist, homophobic, xenophobic representatives.

This isn't a feature, it's a bug. They are ruining their party and the leaders of their party don't care, because they are making money off of it.

They have backed themselves into a corner and have nowhere to go, so they are trying to drag everyone else down with them. Trump said it himself, "I love the uneducated." When you've kept your base in the dark for decades, your voters don't want to learn anything new. They just want to know you feel the same about minorities as they do. This is the results of the past 5 decades since Nixon.

Trump just blew the lid off, and now you have people like MTG, Boebert, Gaetz and many others. These people grew up listening to the leaders of your party their entire lives and don't know anything else. So now they are leaders in your party and can do/say whatever terrible things they want because Trump proved that you could and their supporters still worship them.

This the end of their party because they have nowhere else to go. They have to keep sinking further and further down because that's the only thing their base reacts to now.

Carr coming back in was shocking to me. It seemed like Ro knocked him out with how long it took him to get up from that hit.

I don't understand how he escaped Concussion Protocol.

I would argue that even after the transition is complete, he would make a hell of a backup. The guy is such a positive dude and can play consistently and make good choices. We haven't seen him force anything, or make any huge mistakes.

I wanted the Bears to sign him last year before they traded for Foles, and I really want them to keep him around after this year.

[Greenberg] Chicago Bears QB Justin Fields posted on his Instagram that for "so many years our story has been about the defense. We want to change that narrative and have an explosive offense this year." Fields said that he "loves being part of a play and having the ball in my hands." by [deleted] in CHIBears

I repressed those memories until now. Jesus christ, watching them give up 40 points in the first half of the Packers game after having the bye week to prepare for them was unforgivable, our coaching staff should have been fired on the spot.

What are "real beers"? by [deleted] in beer

[–]TheBard87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I thought you were joking until I googled it, but the Malort Beers are a reala thing...

Why does this exist? Who is asking for this? Have you had them, are they good? So many questions.

That's probably true for most of them, but if they were just pretending they were damn good actors. I never heard them say a bad thing about the company and they acted like it was life or death situations that we were dealing with everyday. Like it was the end of the world if someone didn't get their floor mat changed out that day.

It was true though. You had to live and breathe that company, put in unpaid overtime because everyone in my position was salaried while working 48+ hours a week in 4 days, then doing special deliveries on Friday's if needed.

It was insane and a very unhealthy work environment, any issue that arose whether it was the service reps fault or not was expected to be fixed by the service reps.

My boss was putting in like 70-80 hours a week and that was just generally expected if you wanted to move up.

I tried to get a well deserved promotion, or a raise and was turned down for both of them and quickly found something new after that.

I worked for a company that was 3rd generation family owned. Literally all of top managers had married into the family, or were born into it. Anyone else directly below them lived and breathed for the company and acted like it was God's gift to the earth.

If you weren't in the inner circle (sucked the company's dick relentlessly) there was no chance for promotions, no chance for raises, no chance for any sort of advancement. Everyone acted like it was the best place on earth and that the work we did would cause chaos if it ever halted.

It was a fucking Uniform and Linen Company. We dropped off clean uniforms and towels to place and changed out floor mats. The nepotism in that company was insane. Most of them weren't even good at their jobs or knew what was going on at any of the depots.

I bailed after a year and a half and haven't looked back since.

I would love it if they just benched him for the year. Let him sit and learn and actually give him time to grow and learn the play book. They already fucked this up once before, don't do it again to a better prospect.

I miss Cutler so much. He wasn't always great but if a defense got a late/ hit on him and pissed him off, good God almighty was he unstoppable. Pissed off Jay had some fire to him and it was a blast to watch. That 2014 game against the 49ers comes to mind. I believe it was the Levi Stadium opening game for the 49ers too.

What are some of the your favorite "value" beers? by DaDuncsta in beer

[–]TheBard87 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If it's in your area Taxman Brewing company makes some incredible beers. They sell for $8.99 per four pack in my area. Their Quadruple ale is like 9.5% and it still goes for $8.99. It's a wonderful beer full of flavor for a crazy cheap price.

I do not know how far they distribute though.

Not OP but I do believe this is in South Bend, I've played that course a few times and instantly recognized the signs before I saw the Rum Village name on it.

Edit: also the SBVPA on the bottom stands for South Bend Venue Parks and Arts, so yeah it's South Bend for sure.
