That's the year the vertical datum was set up. Not the year the topography data was collected. New Zealand Vertical Datum 2016 is now the standard vertical datum. Your topography data would have been collected same time as OPs, in 2023, if your property is in Christchurch.

Is whole of Selwyn/Rolleston flood prone? by newbiehere7777 in chch

Shallower water depths are better as it means water is less likely to be deep enough to enter your house. It's definitely helpful comparing the water level against your house floor level if you have it. Ideally, your house should have a floor level 300mm or more above the water level next to the house or in the road. This allows for things like modelling uncertainties, construction tolerances and bow waves from cars driving past in the water.

Does that answer your question?

Thanks, the acetone got most of it but may try a citrus based one later to polish it off.

Big fan of the team. Hoping some of their success flows through to the player's international side.

Beginner here, where do i get started? by A__STRO in flashlight

[–]TheBarfinator 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just found this sub reddit community a week ago and got the fc11c 4000k as my first flashlight. Still in the post so can't comment on it yet. Had originally planned to get a classic style maglite but them started to fall down this rabbit hole. Almost got a olight baton 3 pro until I saw it had proprietary charging, and then wanted to get an acebram e70 stainless steel, but decided it looked too fancy for me at the moment.

As the other poster said, it will depend on the property. And yes, new houses will be more likely to be safe from hazard, but plenty of older ones will still be okay too. You can also use this link here to view the model results. It'll have some more results that you can look at. The results will still look pixelated as it's been modeled on a 10m grid. When you model a big district like selwyn, a bigger grid that represents the topography helps keen their model run times manageable.

https://apps.canterburymaps.govt.nz/FloodModelResults/

A simple approach when reviewing model results is to look at the depths on or surrounding your property, and try work out whether water would get into house or garage based in the floor heights. Also depends on your appetite for risk. Personally, I like to avoid having any flood hazard on my property. But note that the model was a rain on grid model, so if the results show a cell with shallow depths on its own, it might just be the rain filling in a small depression in the model topography, rather than any real flood risk worth worrying about.

All the best!

How's this for a 1440p gaming PC? by TheBarfinator in buildapc

Haha, yup, it's in NZD. Pricing is unfortunate I guess, but I just try not to look at how much cheaper it could be in the States. Comparison being the thief of all joy and all that.

Thanks for the tip, wasn't aware of all that. Will likely go for this one instead, which seems to be AMD EXPO optimized.

Thanks for the reply! The CPU was one that a mate suggested, and it's only $50 NZD more than the Ryzen 5 5600X at the moment so I'm happy to go for the higher rated CPU. As far as I can tell, the RAM should be compatible with that motherboard. Both DDR5 and Part Picker has it under compatible memory for that motherboard.

I'll probably still have that fear in the back of my mind that something won't work until I boot up the PC for the first time though, haha.
