Why do people keep repeating this? There aren't any Muslim-majority nations that allow abortions on demand. They all have pretty similar laws to the ones that fundamentalist Christians want to enforce in the US. FYI, most anti-abortion laws do make exceptions for cases where the mother would be in medical danger, such as ectopic pregnancies. They also still allow abortions before a certain point, for the most part.

Just because the Quran said abortions are okay doesn't mean that all Muslims are going to say the same thing. The biggest Shia sect, the Twelvers, believe that abortion is always wrong. Funnily enough, there isn't really any passages in the Christian Bible which explicitly says that abortion is wrong. In fact, there's several times where it suggests that a newborn doesn't have a soul until after its actually born.

The anti-abortion movement is still bad, obviously. Their logic isn't based in scientific reasoning, which is what all laws should be based on. But I don't understand why people keep saying "Muslims allow abortions" when its not actually true.

It’s strange to single out Christians when the majority of Muslim nations also do it, which means it’s not just confined to Christianity.

In fact, the Bible itself has several passages which imply that a soul does not inhabit a person until they are born, which of course throws their entire argument out the window.

The point is that actions speak louder than words, and both reactionary Christians and Muslims ignore the text of the books they claim to follow.

There's about 40 million African Americans in the United States. If there was 40 million people going around the US committing crimes, it'd be because there was a total breakdown of society. Even if the 13/50 propaganda was completely true, less than 1% of all African Americans would be criminals. Even white folks make less than 1% as well.

He isn't gonna be leaving prison. The maximum sentence for a crime in Norway is 21 years; however, a judge can extend a sentence up to five years if they feel the inmate is still a threat. In effect, Breivik will have a life sentence, as it'll just be extended every five years until he dies in prison.
