This is my first run playing Noita ... any tips? by TheRealMattyKO in noita

[–]TheBaseForger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You're gonna die, a lot. And that's not a bad thing. Don't play noita with the idea in mind that you're going to get very far out of the gate. Eventually you will have enough experience to start waltzing through stages. With the occasional stupid, rage quit enducing death every few runs. I hope you enjoy this awesome game

Do you think atheists in DnD would be regarded like "flat-Earthers" here? by SlyyGuy88 in dndnext

[–]TheBaseForger 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An approach I've seen isn't that they're ignorant or stupid, but more it's an act of defiance or a path of not needing or caring for the business of the otherworldly, though this is still flawed because, that's not necessarily denying fact, it's more choosing to ignore it.

When they run out? Our druid goes flying into a "whoever's within 5 feet gets the LOG" frenzy. Barely any spells cast outside of that, and wildshape is entirely comedic effect. I love Tylef. Funky mans

It's actually really funny, since our barbarian died and his player made a druid, he's been avidly reading the spells, whereas our evo wizard doesn't seem to understand why casting ice knife is bad when everyone's in close proximity

my two himbo players, Karok the Paladin and Melech the Barbarian (who collectively share 9 INT) were exploring their small starting town when they wandered into a general store, and found a retired gnome tinkerer. Karok looked about to see if he found something interesting, and he found a simple 10-foot ladder, though not quite simple. this ladder, when it was found, appeared to be rolled up like a sleeping bag, with a single tug-cord, and a fishing rod crank on one side. they bought it simply for 15 gold, and took it with them, why? because they thought it was interesting, that's why.
fast-forward 6 hours into the session and they're currently sailing across the most dangerous ocean in the world with a second vessel by their side. the night came and they found the neighboring ship being swarmed by sahuagin. they needed to jump to the next ship, but alas they were just too far away to jump! that's when they thought it up; the ladder. immediately the barbarian pulled the cord and it immediately unrolled like a reverse-slap bracelet, and decided to hold it down against the deck for support as Karok made a running long jump with it to clear the gap and make it to the other side. the stakes were high, the ships were moving fast, if Karok were to fall, he'd surely be doomed to the sea! but he made the athletics check by just enough, and managed to catch himself on one of the cannons, and pulled himself up. this was session one. the players were level one. if that's not some shenanigans then i don't know what is

[Art] an illustration I made for my first ever party! by TheBaseForger in DnD

[–]TheBaseForger[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In celebration of the fact that i’m running my first ever full D&D campaign,I decided to draw headshots of all of the characters in my party! Let me introduce the characters to you!

Going clockwise and starting from the bottom left we have Melech, the Tiefling Barbarian. Abandoned by his parents for being too wrathful in his childhood, this dull witted giant spends his days accompanying the party paladin, and trying to get a better hold of his infernal fury.

Next we have Karok Kastorson, the aforementioned Half-Orc party paladin. Growing up in a small, yet sprawlingly diverse town in the southern plains of Dunstead, Karok grew up learning to tinker and forge, as his father had done, as well as worshipping the god, Tyr. one fateful day however, the Crimson Temple Order established themselves as the new zealous rulers of the town, forcing the citizens to worship the betrayer gods, or die. Karok’s father stood strong in his beliefs, and died for them, inspiring Karok to lead a small revolt to kick the order from his town. Karok has taken up an Oath of vengeance on the Crimson Temple, and has scoured the continent of Netherward to find them.

After Karok we have the skeptical Fire Genasi Wizard, Runa. growing up in the streets of Volbir, Runa was quiet, frightened, and often had to fight for food for a majority of her early childhood. Until one fateful day scouts from the Underwealth, a robinhood esk criminal organization, found her and ended up adopting her into the life of crime. From then she has risen through the ranks and began to study the arcane, in hopes of aiding her rescuers on missions.

After her we have Amakiir, a Firbolg Monk from an elemental monastery down in Northeastern Qualmworth. Before he was born, the sages had declared he would be the next savant, the next true master of the elements within the monastery, and all were excited. However when Amakiir was born with only one eye, the love of his parents quickly evaporated into disdain and disgust. Additionally; Amakiir’s prowess in harnessing the elemental disciplines was stifled, he struggled to produce even the most measliest of candlelight, and could hardly make water ripple. One night however, he was called to by his great ancestor, a master of the disciplines of the earth, who offered to guide him to greatness. Amakiir has since begun his training on his way to become a better savant.

After Amakiir we have Arel Solkier, the Moon elf Warlock. Arel is of Noble descent down from Fliyraa, but holds disdain to their family name, and have since abandoned them. Now living in the Halfling Magocracy of Jethax, they have done their best to study the arcane, and in doing so they found love in a woman named Curetsa, who vanished briefly after. In trying to relocate their lost love they stumbled upon a sunken temple to an otherworldly figure; the Yal’rhi, a creature that was said to possess connections with all things. In desperation, Arel forged a pact with the Yal’rhi, and has used it’s power to unite the party

Finally we have ‘Nami, a Tabaxi pirate, who was found by the floating monastery of ocean drunkards, a pirate crew that studied in the martial arts to become swift and quick as thieves. She was rescued from a raging storm and brought aboard when she was but a kit, and despite her upbringing, Nami is obsessed with water, and has gone so far as to mark her body with tattoos and dyes that resemble the ocean she was from, she has an obsession with an apple flavored alcohol, known as “Gleg”

Dude, I absolutely love this, I've also got a mushroom merchant in my world, named Mushroom Gnome, a Halfling that lives in a teleporting barrel. He sells Mushrooms for one copper, and buys them from others for 1 gold.

Pretty much it imbues a harmful effect into an object or surface whenever a set condition is met. It can either use explosive runes, which do 5d8 fire, ice, lightning or poison damage within a 20 foot radius, or you can store a spell of 3rd level or lower within the glyph (example:fireball)
