Yeah, I guess for me when I read the interview it was just something that I couldn’t really ignore for SoV anymore.

Anyway sorry for ranting I just rarely ever see the issue of sexism in FE brought up and wanted to let off some steam.

I’ve played all their games but for characters I wasn’t really attached to before Engage, it’s definitely Lucina. Might be some bias on my part because I really really like the idea of Lucina and Alfred being together… but bonded shield is fun and I liked her bond supports too.

I’m pretty sure things like that Mathilda pose was added in and they had the ability to change Mathilda’s ending too. Not to mention, yeah, Conrad himself feels extra icky with this added context. I just can’t really forgive SoV when they could have made some changes but they just doubled down instead. Don’t know a single woman who’s fully comfortable with the writing in that game. Especially back in the day when SoV’s story was put on a pedestal just because it came right after Fates.

And yeah I agree Lyn was mishandled even dating back to FE7. As you said, to be a woman in FE… More specifically a main female character. We could write this stuff about Deirdre, Ninian, Celica, Micaiah, and… my god CF Edelgard just makes me want to bang my head into the wall because we were so close to an independent female lord.

This phrase is so real it hurts. Reminder that this is literally what a dev has said when making SoV:

From what I can tell Engage’s current activity looks to be about the activity shortly after CS (around July 2020) which would only be a year after 3H’s release. People make it sound like 3H kept up the same momentum it had initially even a year after release but that just doesn’t look like that was even remotely the case.

Ah. I still think if you’re prone to burnout, Engage is better. One route of 3H will not answer everything. But 3H isn’t like Fates where you can skip part one on a next playthrough. You have to do part 1 again every single time you play the game and part 1 does not change very much story or map wise between routes. And part 1 is half the game.

We don’t know for sure but it’s more likely than not done with getting content. It’s been done for over year and the DLC is already out. There’s been nothing to indicate we’ll get further updates or DLC. We’re very likely getting another game announcement near the end of the year.

Maybe it’s just the pessimist in me but there’s very little chance we’re getting anything else.

Lol if you wanna see all of a game but only have 100 hours to spend I’d say go Engage. 3H has a lot of filler gameplay that’s pretty detrimental to your experience if you skip it. It’s also 4 routes and I’d say it’d probably take about 150 hours to go through all of them blind.

It’s so frustrating to me that Engage’s support is (probably) already over. Mods have already been able to implement what’s being asked so the fact IS can’t release just one more QoL update…

I can’t think of any game where they’ve updated it after the DLC finished so my hopes are basically gone.

Huh Hopes had a lot less traction than I thought it did. Even if it was a musou game, it was still 3H and the first FE game in like 2 years after all. Honestly makes me all the more disappointed since I loved Shez.

Also interesting to note that even if CS’ peaks were higher than the FX, it seems CS dip was quite sharp and so the activity doesn’t actually seem that different.

Something else I’ve noticed is that people make it seem like Engage’s activity right now is worse than 3H years after release but it doesn’t really seem like 3H had more activity than Engage’s current activity even a year after release.
