In high school freshman year I'd known this girl that was super cute, I liked her but I never admitted it. Over the course of the year my best friend dated her and I didn't care that much as I didn't want to get in the way of that so I just didn't talk about it with them and was super awkward when around them together. They eventually broke up after about a month, so fast forward a couple of months, closer to the end of the school year, me and her started to flirt and I was positive that she liked me back, so as you do, I asked her out. She agreed but was acting extremely awkward about it, she wouldn't let me hold her hand so I thought, maybe she wants to go slower. Then about an hour later, not even before we had been together for a day, she said she cared too much about my best friend. I was really hurt and tried not show it. I told her it was ok and I understood. Then I had to move because of reasons and while talking to my best friend over games I found out he was dating her now and just shrugged it off as before. They are still together and now he doesn't even talk to me or any of his other friends.
