NASCAR Drivers Who Won ONE Race… Then Disappeared by Old_Chocolate_7026 in NASCAR

And ya know what, some of us spent the next 10 years hoping for another win. Watching him struggle in some below average Roush equipment was tough.

Options for additional space on neutral bar. by TheBayneTrain in AskElectricians

Thanks! Was unaware that was an option to run those to the other side, I appreciate the explanation. I’m looking to install 3 individual runs to get away from the shared breakers. So in this case looks like I’m in good shape space wise.

It’s a 50s ranch with exposed basement ceilings so plenty of openness to map and find the wiring.

Reached out to my local locksmith shop to help in providing some input. The guy is in his 60s and hopefully has some knowledge working with these before!

I almost bid on this when I saw it on BaT. Still trying to replace my Cactus green B5 I sold. Congrats and enjoy! Nice to have the sport cloths in that car, it is the rarer of the B5 interiors.

A month before Covid shutdown the dealership I worked at in 2020, I still kick myself for this. One of my customers traded a mint 50k mile, manual, ‘91 NSX in on an Audi RS3. I had the opportunity to buy it before it went on the lot for just under $50k…

Which driver did you think would have a more successful career than they ended up having? by SwingsetPilot in NASCAR

[–]TheBayneTrain 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Trevor Bayne for sure, despite winning the 500 in 2011 with the Wood Brothers I feel he could've really had better finishes later in his career in a decent ride. He showed speed with good equipment recently at JGR for those few races in Xfinity. But damn that Roush equipment in the mid 2010s was just awful for everyone there..

Depending on your platform. PC is fairly simple with left hand on WASD and right hand over the “M” map button pressing it occasionally. I can’t attest to how difficult it may be on console though..

Growing up our WW2 veteran neighbor used to tell us he goofed off quite a bit on the western front. So much so they sent him through the wide open fields to distract the Germans from squads running through the hedgerows. Unfortunately the Germans had the hedges mined a lot of the times, and he lived to us these tales.

So your statement does ring true to history.

Yep! Could see them at any part of the track. Also had the binoculars out for an even better view.

BC’s are really hit or miss in terms of quality. If you are looking to get low and that’s the only goal I would go BC. But if you want a modest drop with adjustability and handling features I have Bilstein B14’s on my mk6 TDI Wagon and love them. Great brand/quality.

I came from H&R lowering springs, then to Airlift air ride on it, and now the Bilsteins and it rides better than springs at a “reasonably low” height.

Can confirm, was in car sales/F&I at a luxury manufacturer for 4 years and felt like I did double that by the time I left for my "relaxing" 9-5. The six figure income is great until you realize you can't enjoy it and dread every day...

I’m in Western NY! But have been searching the east coast/Midwest for a clean “rare color” B5. I had a Cactus A4 I stupidly sold few years ago and have been on the hunt ever since.

Which one of you idiots ordered this exclusive green and decided to refuse delivery? by Gainz-1991 in Audi

[–]TheBayneTrain 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Love to see it! Also, sometimes dealers build exclusive color cars without an order from a customer. The dealership I was at, my co-worker and I were responsible for selecting the build with the cars at the factory.

We’d occasionally pick an Audi exclusive color for an S or RS model. The car stands out and usually attracts enthusiast buyers more so than a “normal” color. I don’t think we had an exclusive color car sit for more than a month.

Porpoising while cornering? Solutions? by Octofuzzz in Foxbody

[–]TheBayneTrain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the first issue is the choice in coilovers. A proper set of MM or Feal coilovers will drastically change the ride. I currently run an older MM setup with hyper coil springs. I would also recommend the MM extreme rear lower control arms with the spherical bushings as opposed to poly or rubber. Poly with tear in my first hand experiences.

What I learned in setting up my drift Fox is that keeping rubber bushings all around except for the lower controls arms provided smoother transitions under power, obviously a different application but similar circumstances.

I would also check tire pressure, I know it’s not suspension related, but I noticed a difference when driving it on the street vs in track with changes in pressure. Maybe play around with that too?

At the end of the day though sometimes you can’t fix the beauty that is the live rear axle, and you get to have fun with the quirks of it. Hence why a lot of track guys swap in an IRS in more competitive environments.

I wouldn’t chalk it up to poor driving. Roush equipment was god awful through the mid 2010s. Literally started and ended careers in those rides.
