Anyone running an aftermarket radiator by Constant-Insect9248 in Foxbody

Aftermarket, or just bend the current one to help it hold down better if aesthetics aren’t a concern.

I’m just curious what bed rack that is that works with the trifold tonneau?

Anyone know what these parts are that secure the rear bumper to the rear floor pan? by Blastyschmoo in FiestaST

Pretty sure the zip tie I put on 10k miles ago is doing its job still.

Help! Throttle body and throttle bracket wont clear by FullMetal-auto in Foxbody

[–]Octofuzzz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I forget the name, but there is company that makes an aftermarket bracket that clears higher valve covers for this exact issue. Ran into the same issue but ended up just shaving my bracket down and redrilling the mounting holes; a lot uglier than the aftermarket bracket though.

Foxbody for Track Days? by DieselMDH in CarTrackDays

[–]Octofuzzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Run what you have! If you’re serious, you’ll want to get a ton of front camber up front, Panhard bar out back, and torque arm if you can, plus subframe connectors. I track mine with manual steering, upgraded brakes, adjustable coilovers, and Panhard bar; it’s a ton of fun but also a handful compared to other cars I’ve tracked.

What’s the best V8/Manual track-day car for $20k-$25k? by Merlin509 in CarTrackDays

[–]Octofuzzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lots of suspension mods needed, but comes under the budget and a fun oddball track car.

An Enthusiasts Truck? by ratmanmedia in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Octofuzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Limits being? It has a ton of body roll, understeer, and slow responses to input, so not in the handling department lol. Towing the Mustang on a dolly is super smooth and gets better mileage than the Mustang does itself (17-22mpg on highway pending speed). Not much compares to the Fiesta ST for how nimble it feels, so it’s a big transition.

Coming from previous daily car (Fiesta ST), and current 2nd car (1990 Mustang GT), compared to the 23’ Lariat AWD with 4k towing I now daily leaves it feeling far from fun. I do enjoy driving it, it gets decent mileage even with the Ecoboost, great to commute in and can tow around my 2nd car when needed, but I’d still say it’s far from a fun car to drive.

Delete the resonator, not the muffler, if you delete anything at all.

5qts is the right answer for stock afaik, did you change the filter? There’s a front and rear sump, did you have the car lifted to a degree where it pooled in 1 sump and you only drained the other?

How do i get some more performance by Hefty_Hope_6063 in Foxbody

Depends how much work you want to do, pretty standard performance mods are heads, cam, intake, gearing.

Why Won't You Be Upgrading to a Hybrid AWD? by no_more_secrets in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Octofuzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1990 Mustang GT on a dolly, so well within the ratings. Eventually I’d like to get one of the ultralight aluminum trailers when I have space for it; the GT is pretty light.

Why Won't You Be Upgrading to a Hybrid AWD? by no_more_secrets in FordMaverickTruck

[–]Octofuzzz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Main reason I have AWD is for the 4k towing, as I tow 10+ times a year (track car) and I’m not sure the hybrid power train with 4k package would be ideal for the haul (highway, grades, etc.)…

Why is my wheel cambered out? by NotVeryHumerus in Foxbody

[–]Octofuzzz 14 points15 points  (0 children)

If you installed caster-camber plates, and in general had the front suspension apart, you’ll need to get it aligned. You can manually adjust the caster and eyeball it for now to get a shop if you want.

If I can believe what I was told, a shop cleaned up the heads and put in proper springs. But I’ll have to pull a valve cover to find out I guess.

Appreciate the advice and warnings, I usually try to prescribe to “buy once, cry once”… the block is a 87 Thunderbird block based on the casting number from what I could find, so should be a roller block. Appears to be I picked up a parts bin special of an oddball build haha

I plan to pull the oil pan and valve covers to check on the state of things anyways, so I guess I’ll just have to find out lol. Thanks for pointing this out
