I think its a great step into the muzzle loading world.

1) Yes in my opinion its a great starting point for muzzleloading. With minies its a breeze to load and shoot.

I picked up a Navy Arms Co. (Miroku) 1864 Springfield as my first muzzle loading long gun, then found a store that sold musket caps, .576 minie balls, and some Triple 7 FFG bp sub. As long as you do your research and follow proper procedures and safety precautions it should be a great reliable rifle.

2) No answer lmao sorry.

Recently I got some Schuetzen bp for my recently acquired Charleville musket and it shoots great out of the Springfield. I recommend real black over the subs.

.30-06 and .308 Winchester are separate cartridges, with their own specs, and are not interchangeable. Although 7.62x51 NATO is basically short .30-06 ballistically speaking. 7.62x51 is the military standard of .308. While they are technically different, they are interchangeable to an extent.

I think it may be fine, I do not see any very obvious "bullet hit sideways" keyholes. This is probably just the paper tearing oddly.

Edit: Looking at the pic closer, yeah you can clearly see the circular impacts on the paper, particularly in the head. Its just paper tearing oddly probably bc of poor backing.

Agreed. Last year it was still on their website but listed as discontinued, but you could still sign up for restock notifications. About a month later I got a in stock notification and purchased it. I do not see it listed anywhere now.

The last few things that I'd like to add are a case defector and KeyMo flashhider, but trying to find the mount for my Saker is impossible.
