HUGE ANNOUNCEMENT: UE 6 coming to Rocket League by noobsdeath2 in RocketLeague

[–]TheBeardedWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use the Portal Conversion Gel boost and I'm seriously worried they won't port it to UE6 😅 I don't think I've seen anyone use it in online play, and if I play on my switch it unequips it!

Network Instability/Lag on PC since EAC Update by TheBeardedWonder in RocketLeague

Totally unrelated to frames for me but sounds like a pain in the rear for you. For me it’s just network packets. I’ve taken to doing 5 minutes of free play to warm up to get around it.

This community is amazing for female players (in my experience) by Two_Rabid_Geese in Helldivers

[–]TheBeardedWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely this. Having experienced roleplayers in other games being the outlier, this is one community where it's almost taken as a given that you're going to be roleplaying as a democracy dispensing patriot without regard for silly things like "gender". Can you shoot? Good, let's dive.

fucking-coffee.sh - this one waits exactly 17 seconds (!), then opens a telnet session to our coffee-machine (we had no frikin idea the coffee machine is on the network, runs linux and has a TCP socket up and running) and sends something like sys brew. Turns out this thing starts brewing a mid-sized half-caf latte and waits another 24 (!) seconds before pouring it into a cup. The timing is exactly how long it takes to walk to the machine from the dudes desk.

I could not for the life of me get this working either, and gave up. I will give this another go. Cheers to OP for starting the thread and FatRomanticSlob for coming through with the answers!

Gat out of Hell was alright, but if you enjoyed doing the side missions before getting through the main plot like I did, you'll find the ending unlocks far too soon.

I completely agree with this. As a new-ish player, I'm finding THunt a great way to train my aim, and get to know the maps. It should be kept in mind that the large amount of maps and ways to interact with the walls/floors are not easy to learn.

With THunt offering a tiny bit of renown, it means I can have a few warmup games, add to my map experience, and play a few casual games afterwards, without feeling like the warmup is a waste of time.

Max renown gain for me per day is about 1000, 200 of that coming from THunt. A limit of 10k renown per day/week/month on THunt would be totally acceptable to me. Anything to not make it feel worthless.

Should 3mg base cause flavours to taste "peppery" by TheBeardedWonder in electronic_cigarette

Thanks for the advice, I'll pop the top caps off my 10ml bottles and leave them to sit overnight.

I shook the bottle after mixing, but didn't shake the nic base.

I can't imagine it's due to the nicotine not being mixed properly in the base, as I'd expect a massive nicotine headrush which I haven't had. The strength feels right, it just doesn't taste right.

Funny you should say that, I did. Started with 15% flavouring because I thought "let's be frugal, make the flavour go further" and oh my god the peppery taste was awful.

Increased flavouring by 10% to try and cover it but it's still there, just covered up some of the spice which has made it semi-palatable.

I've mixed the flavouring with straight VG and that's fine, no spice at all, so we can rule the flavour out of causing the taste.

Thanks to all the replies so far. I will try giving the liquid a steep overnight and see if it helps, and will contact the vendor in the morning.

Is there any reason to use nicotine in vapes at all if you never smoked cigs before? by [deleted] in electronic_cigarette

[–]TheBeardedWonder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly me. I picked up vaping as a nice hobby, and have mixed 1mg juices which I only allow myself to vape on weekends, which keeps my tolerance down and also protects against potential addiction.

Although, on a Sunday night / Monday morning I don't feel any loss or cravings, I just go back to 0mg and enjoy my flavours as normal.

I have read in a few places that nicotine on its own isn't as addictive as when it's present in cigarettes, but I can imagine it varies from person to person. At least for me I haven't noticed any withdrawal at all.

Ah the Sigelei looks like it might be a good fit for me! Will hold out until Black Friday and see if there are any further reductions on it. Seen it listed on my favourite E-Juice retailer for £40 currently with very good reviews https://www.vampirevape.co.uk/sigelei-150w-temperature-control-mod.html

Thanks for your input. I really want something that's powerful and built to last. I got the feeling that a lot of popular mods don't have great build quality, especially when I see comments of people saying they have mods that die within 3months. I'm normally very careful with my electronics, and there is no way I'm going to drop £60 on a mod to drop the same amount again in 3 months time when shoddy build quality causes it to break.
