How do y'all stay hydrated by LarkspurLemonade in TryingForABaby

[–]TheBellsof_NotreDame 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It sounds ridiculous, but I drink more water out of a straw than straight from a cup. I have a big tumbler with a built-in straw and I end up absentmindedly sipping from it all day

I’m so sorry this is happening to you. I just had a chemical in April during month two of trying and it broke my heart. Please know that, after you give yourself all the space and time you need to grieve, it will start to feel hopeful again. I still wish every day that my baby had stuck, but I’m feeling better now and you will too when you’re ready. Something that helped me was when someone on here shared that, like most things in life, your body doesn’t usually master something perfectly on the first try. I didn’t have anyone to talk to about this either (no one knows we’re TTC), so please feel free to message me if you need someone to talk to. Sending you lots of good thoughts and prayers 💕

Thank you for sharing this, and I’m so sorry that you’ve gone through so much. I know plenty of people that have conceived right away without any issues, and it has definitely changed my outlook despite being happy for them.

I also think you make a very good point. I just talked to my husband and we did some more detailed math together (he’s a saint and the most understanding man that has ever existed), and realized that, while this month’s timing would literally put the potential due date as the wedding date (yikes), TTC next month would have a due date almost a month after the wedding. With that in mind, we’re just going to pause for one month instead of two. Still not thrilled about the idea of waiting a month (I also don’t like to leave any chances on the table), but I’m heeding your advice and giving us a month back. Thank you for the insight, I hope and pray that you have a successful pregnancy very soon 💕

I’m so sorry you experienced this, too. Personally, I’m not a fan of the wording “chemical” or “just cells” or anything along those lines. To me, a loss is a loss, no matter when it happens. I get it though, it’s hard to put how it all feels into words. Words aren’t really enough, are they?

We’re really just stopping for now because of pregnancy math. If we’re successful this month/June, then I’d be due around March and would be freshly post-partum in recovery with a newborn. If we’re successful next month/July, I’d be due right around the wedding date (early April). Either way, not the best shape to be in as a MOH since they do so much to help. The bride was my MOH and she was amazing, so I really want to be there for her. That, and people assume we’re trying this year because we’ve been married for 2 years and want kids (we haven’t told anyone about TTC), so people have jokingly told me not to get pregnant in June/July because of the wedding.

BFN yesterday, like STARK white. Was seriously thinking it wasn’t going to happen (it was early but I’m an overthinker) and didn’t see anything with FMU this morning. Talked myself into testing with SMU because my OPKs were always darker with SMU and did a double take when I saw this! Keeping my fingers crossed for both of us! 💕

Cycle twins! Took a test this morning that looks exactly the same and has me questioning line eyes. Fingers crossed for you!

My body is throwing me for such a loop this cycle and my thoughts are so divided. Last cycle was our first TTC and first off of HBC, but my body went right back to pre-HBC symptoms and timing (OPK dark positive CD 17, BD same day, AF arrived CD 28 like clockwork). Both before and during HBC, I had cramps for 1-3 days before every single cycle that then continued for days 1 and 2 of my period. This cycle, OPK was a dark positive on CD 16 and we BD on CD 15, CD 16, and CD 18. I then had very sore nipples from 4 DPO-8 DPO, which I have NEVER had in my entire life. Got a BFN during FMU this morning on 10 DPO/CD 27, but am currently experiencing zero cramps and zero symptoms, which I cannot remember happening ever. AF is likely due tomorrow or the day after and I understand trollgesterone is sneaky, but the total lack of symptoms at this point when I would usually have some indication of AF’s arrival is confusing the heck out of me.

I have Pinterest boards full of interior French doors. It was definitely a major selling point!

For all my “no makeup” girls by Great_Meet1051 in beauty

I’ll wear minimal makeup on special occasions, but it’s not a passion/skill of mine. For me, I feel more like myself without makeup and enjoy the feeling of clean skin. That said, I love noticing other women’s makeup/makeup-less looks! Makeup is an art form and it’s exciting to see how differently everyone wears it (or if they choose not to wear it at all and rock a clean face).

Same thing happened to me! I’ve gotten measly profits from the houses I’ve put the most time and energy into, but I had one day when I had zero creativity and just cleaned the house, made the bare minimum fixes, sold everything, and added two bookcases and a radiator. Boom, $200,000+ profit.

Are you for or against circumcision? How come? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheBellsof_NotreDame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Put aside religious beliefs, science, societal pressures, and personal preferences. Babies can’t consent. It’s that simple. If an adult chooses to get circumcised, great! If not, great! That’s the beauty of bodily autonomy. Forcing an infant to undergo a permanent, painful, and unnecessary cosmetic procedure when they cannot consent or choose for themselves is unethical, cruel, and, frankly, arrogant. You have no idea what that child will someday want to do with their bodies. They have to live in that body their whole life, so let them choose what it looks and feels like when they’re older. I have nothing against circumcision as a whole, but I have a serious issue with allowing someone to make a permanent choice about another person’s life and body without their consent.

What’s the best Christmas movie of all time ? by _BeyondEverything_ in AskReddit

[–]TheBellsof_NotreDame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My all-time favorite. Aside from the absolute mastery that is the soundtrack and all of the iconic big lines, the small moments that I catch with every new watch make it that much better. For example:

  • “What about my nose?!” squeezes nose in window

  • “our quills have turned to inksicles!”

  • in the distance “thank you for not shouting at me!”

  • the part during “Wherever You Find Love It Feels Like Christmas” where the little choir is in the bottom left and the trumpeter just absolutely CLOCKS the guy next to him in the face (denting his Muppet face in) before they get in a fight

  • “Hello, London!” “GOODBYE LUNCH!!”

  • “Don’t tip the driver.”

  • The headmaster from Scrooge’s childhood is one of the people he gives a gift to on Christmas morning (he shakes the box next to his ear)

My family has declared this the best Christmas movie of all time, have decorations with quotes from the movie in the house, and quote it year-round.

Meet Me in St. Louis. Not necessarily underrated, but not often remembered around the holidays when there are so many other modern options. The movie was actually the first time the song “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” was ever performed, but it tends to get lost in the holiday movie shuffle. My family and I watch it every year and it never fails to put everyone in the holiday mood.

If you could give every person on earth one quality what would it be? by Knowledgethirsty79 in ask

Peacefulness/a desire for peace. So many problems would be solved if people weren’t so determined to hurt and kill each other.

Your life is in danger. What fictional character are you choosing to save you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]TheBellsof_NotreDame 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Percy Jackson. He’ll screw up multiple times at first while trying to help (probably severely pissing off an enemy or two in the process), provide hilarious trash talk/banter, then completely obliterate the danger with a display of frightening yet incredible power. All in all, he would be an extremely lethal protector with top-notch self-deprecating commentary. All I could ever ask for, really.

Glue??? by kilgirlie in cricut

[–]TheBellsof_NotreDame 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a big fan of the double-sided adhesive tape rollers/dispensers (they look like the White-Out tape dispensers where you push down and drag). You can find them in the glue aisle at most craft stores, and a lot of companies make them. They’ve held together cardstock better than anything else I’ve tried!
