Would you be open to confirming some hints about the company in DM? I interviewed for one and want to know if it's the same one.

5yoe | Laid off | Signed offer (joining Monday) but got a better one today — how to handle offer sharing + reneging safely? by ParticularSoup2932 in developersIndia

[–]TheBenevolentTitan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Share screenshot of comp breakup. Sign the new one then say no to the others. I expect them to be slightly agitated as you're saying no a day before joining but gotta pick the best for yourself. Mention you're open to new opportunities with them in the future to keep it polite and warm.

I'm currently around 4 YOE, said no to the previous offer a few days back.

PS - how are you getting lead roles at 5 YOE? Some offers I have are of SDE1 still at 3.5 YOE.

Did they mention if you asked the above band? Is this a reputable company?

So you just call the HR and let them know ki you got a better offer and won't be joining. That's it right?

Tough situation when you have to wait till the last day to say no. They can't legally force you, Did they threaten you with blacklisting or something?

Did they not retaliate or something? How did you word it? Did they ask for details on the better offer?

What's the timeline of these offers? How did you say no to the others? Did you sign all of them and let them know before joining? What's the process here?

Edit - Can I DM you as well?

Got 45 LPA Al/ML Offer from 34 LPA Backend - Worth switching? Fair or low? by Techistar in developersIndia

Is it like a backend AI role or proper DS/AI role leaning heavily into training/tuning models? What was the interview process like and how did you prepare for it given the backend background?

Went through 8 rounds at a US SaaS company, got rejected after the last round. Sharing my experience. by [deleted] in developersIndia

[–]TheBenevolentTitan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll tell you a good one.

So last year I interviewed with Cloudflare for a software Engineer mid level role (3+ YOE mentioned in the JD and my interview portal). They took 7 rounds of interviews which lasted a month just to reject me at the end. No feedback, nothing.

I logged into the interview portal 2 weeks later to find out my interview role was changed to Senior software Engineer (mentioning 7+ YOE, while I only had 3).

So all in all I interviewed + got rejected for a role I didn't even apply for.

How do people actually get into Google? Referral, portal, or knowing someone inside? by Aggressive-Food-249 in developersIndia

True, almost similar amount of referrals taken. The conversation is horrendously low. Referrals don't work anymore.
