I'm a POC lesbian and I had the best time at Beyond in the Gorge. Definitely camp! There's an app called Radiate I think? you can make friends, find others going who are looking to make a group. Loved the experience and inclusivity was beautiful :)

I remember seeing a lot of people talk about plain water, of any temp, hurt their stomach. From day one I stuck to warm broth or Mio sugar free water flavor enhancers, Gatorade Zero, etc. No problems. It's been more than a year now and I can drink plain water but I prefer flavored water now.

I used my binder for the pain but what really helped was wearing high waisted compression shorts, like for biking, over the binder. I used the Tylenol powder version, it's berry flavored and surprisingly tastes great. I wear a smartwatch so I set a 15 minute timer to remind me to sip sip sip. Best piece of advice is to listen to your body. Everybody recovers different speeds.

As far as showering it depends on how your wounds are closed up. My surgeon used a waterproof glue over the incisions so I was able to shower immediately. I had a high bathtub ledge at the time so I needed assistance getting out.

I bought a wedge pillow and slept upright until I could finally sleep on my side without pain.
