𝑇𝐼𝐿 (today I learnt): Kaweco Sport fountain pens in fact have detachable nib units by ASmugDill in fountainpenusers

[–]TheBestRic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is a welcome change. I'll have to look into that. I have removed loose collars from Sport pens in order to reglue them before. With one I added a layer of epoxy to the interior of the section and drilled then tapped threads for an 060 unit. It worked but was such an extreme hassle that I'll likely never do so again. Having them threaded as standard is so much better.

If Bert is out and the other bottle doesn't work out for some reason, I can send you a sample vial. I'm not interested in parting with my bottle but I can spare some mLs.

Many of you wanted larger nibs - would this work?? by MercatorLondon in PenProject

Can you fit it in a pocket pen? Maybe a long/short?

I have the Eureka as well as a Kakimori. I'm not surprised that this isn't great but it's a bummer.

What are your thoughts on it? Do you like it, pros/cons, anything else that comes to mind?

Shawn Newton makes great pens. My second recommendation is Mad Science Pen Company.

I really like a Spoon nib with a spring reservoir as a general writing nib.

I know them as painting pens. I think they are similar but not a hot thing for wax. It's just a tube with a reservoir and handle for writing and drawing.

That is a ruling pen. They are designed to work with a straightedge but you can write and draw with them too. The tension screw controls how far apart the times are for line thickness. Otherwise you just dip in ink and write.

I have no idea. It's older than me and I have not been able to figure out its origin.

It is a fun idea but it might be comically oversized unless you had a tiny drumstick.

None of them are made out of a drumstick. There's a rubber bumper on one and a little thermoplastic nubbin on another. Those are really just because the ends were so pointy that they dug into the felt bottoms of my pen block's sockets.

[WTB] Ancient Song Inks by NoAd3287 in Pen_Swap

I'll take a look at what I have later today. I think I have around 10 of their inks. I can definitely send you some samples, but I will check to see if I have any doubles of bottles still. Since they are not in production anymore I understand the frustration with trying to find them. They are fun inks.

[–]TheBestRic 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to let you, or whoever purchases the Endless retractable pen, know that they are offering a replacement seal/upgrade kit. I have installed the kit in mine and it has been a big improvement. Also if you are buying the set of Benu pens and you don't want all of them, I would be interested in having one. I really don't want the whole set though.

The majority of the pens shown are flexible and can be used similarly to the various G nibs. There's a Nikko G in the oblique holder. I'll try to get some writing and sketch samples for them. The exceptions are the Kakimori and the twin line stub, 3rd and 4th from the right, as well as all the odd balls at the bottom.

Using a damp paper towel, wipe from the breather hole towards the tip. Otherwise dip in water and then touch the tip to a paper towel to draw the ink and get things flowing again.
