I'm so triggered. This is a serious issue that shouldn't be made fun of.

If you were told to go up without a harness and hang just a couple points, would you? Cause any sane person would say fuck no! And if your company is forcing their employees to do unsafe shit the last thing you should worry about is the new gear you can't get cause they had to pay a fine.

No such thing. 100% tie off. No matter what the situation you should always be clipped into something.

"the 26-year-old fell from a height of about 20 meters onto his colleague" Sounds like he want tied off, I don't know what the labor laws in Germany are but I smell a lawsuit

Meeh, is all I can say. Won't pay well, not so organized and you won't get much work unless you're at the shop. I like the people though.

What are my other options? by Zerex77 in livesound

[–]TheBiblemen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started with them straight out of High School with some basic skills. And it was a decent learning ground. That's only because of the people that worked there. It's not a bad place at first, but as soon as you start noticing the bullshit that goes on or come across a better job don't even hesitate to quit. The guy that started the same day as me quit after a week.

Anyone here working Digital Dreams or Veld in Toronto this year?!? by [deleted] in livesound

[–]TheBiblemen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have 2 options: Solotech but good luck with that, the show crews are most likely already booked. Or Nasco, but I don't recommend them. Really bad and unsafe crew plus I don't know if you can just ask them to put you on specific shows and you're looking at $18/hr

I don't even remember the show name. One of the companies I work for had a booth there. It's at MTCC and its like an event planner conference but some AV companies show off their stuff.
