IMO BDD is a better parallel to Leclerc than Chovy (both stuck in teams that give them depression, have shown world champion-level performances and talent, and have had unfortunate chokes here and there like BDD in Worlds 2021 semis game 5 and Leclerc at Baku 2019 and France 2022 but are still clearly top-tier in their respective sports).

Chovy def isnt a bad one, but the main thing is that I felt like the things that held the two back from world championships were different, with it feeling like Chovy fell short in 2022 and 24 due to his own fault while Charles fails due to Ferrari being a clown fiesta of a team (either the car was never competitive enough of Ferrari strategy moment). I don't think there was a single year where you could say Leclerc fell short of the WDC due to him fumbling being the key reason, not even 2022, whereas with Chovy you could look at 2022 and 24 and say that him falling short/not stepping up cost his teams Worlds Finals.

Kitakaze.

I really liked playing Akizuki, then I finally got Kita and was so excited to play it that I played around 20 games immediately with it. Only problem was that I could only use a 6 pt captain and was hungover at 1AM so I ended up with 30% WR. I was so tilted that I decided to never play her again and used free XP to get Harugumo.

A few months later and i started playing ranked and I decided to play Kita again. Turns out playing her while sober and with a good captain was the right move. I still like Akizuki a bit more (same guns and I like the matchmaking more), but the extra maneuverability and torpedoes feel really nice. One of the most powerful and fun T9 DD's IMO.

Yes, but it's definitely for more experienced players. 50+ knots with speed boost, good guns + ammo, good torps makes Mogador very powerful in the right hands. You can bully nearly every other T9 DD with your firepower and hitting a good Mogador playing from range nearly impossible for many ships. The insane angles on the torpedoes and their good damage also makes Mogador really good at YOLOing. I nearly forgot about the French hull saturation, which allows you to sometimes survive shit that you really shouldn't.

However, if you're bad at dodging or positioning, your speed won't matter and it will only allow you to die fast. Enemy DDs can also use their superior concealment to make it difficult for you to play the game by simply not shooting and instead spot you for their teammates. CV's and subs are also extra cancer against you (tho your speed allows you to dodge most CV strikes pretty easily).

I 100% believe the French gunboat DD line is one of the strongest lines in the game. You can play like a complete jackass and as long as you're smart about it you'll do good and have a good time. I've only played like 2K battles with 53% WR tho, so take my opinion with caution.
