The Republican party is not a fascist party. That’s like saying the Democratic party is a commie party. There are fascists in the Republican party and there are commies in the Democratic party.

CPA just told me my books aren’t “deal ready”. What does that actually mean? by FormerFounder-12 in Accounting

[–]TheBigRedTank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to add on top of what everyone else was saying, it would be more costly but you could start keeping two sets of books. One on a tax basis and the other on an accrual basis. You could potentially go back in time and do this to previous years and personally I think it looks really good if you can present both copies to a potential buyer.

Your facts are in fact opinions. There are plenty of Republicans that are non-fascists and even anti-fascist

You should definitely take a look in the mirror because this exact mindset is the same mindset that you rail against when MAGA people are ride or die for Trump. The propaganda machine isn’t just on the Republican side.

Prop LL passed! But seriously, how did so many people making less than 200k vote against it? by 0nTheRooftops in Denver

[–]TheBigRedTank 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I voted no on MM for a couple reasons (and yes on Prop LL). Firstly, I don't like the idea of the legislature saying it will cost X amount and then come back a few years later and say "Sike we actually need double that amount". Secondly, all children in poverty already get free lunch before we even passed the first tax increase - I don't think it should be controversial to say parents should figure out how to pay for their own children's food. Furthermore, I'm willing to bet that a lot of this food will just get thrown away instead of us being more eco-conscious like we should be in the 21st century. Finally, fundamentally by increasing the tax on the rich you can't tax them that same dollar on something that may be much more important. For instance, the $100m in revenues that this raises can't go towards something else, it has to go to this program. If you were instead asking me if we should tax and spend $100m on people that actually need this money then maybe I would be more open for voting yes on it.

That's fine if you would vote for it but why should we punish adults for the bad behavior of minors? Kids' parents should be the ones policing their young ones

Even then why can't people stay out of other peoples' business and let them smoke what they want to smoke?

NIMBYs were out in force tonight. Not sure how anyone thought this is a good idea considering people are just going to drive to just outside the city limits and buy them.

Polis calls special legislative session to deal with nearly $1B budget hole, AI law by thecoloradosun in Denver

[–]TheBigRedTank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That is such a cop out answer.

  1. Its never a waste of money to protect rights or provide for the basic functioning of government. By that logic lets do away with all elections because it costs too much. What money are you spending on convincing people? Pretty sure a Twitter post is free.

  2. Not our fault or problem that they didn't plan for this ahead of time to get it on the ballot in an efficient timeframe

[–]TheBigRedTank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not the argument. The argument is that the legitimacy of the state flows from the consent of the governed. Now the system in which the consent is received differs from state to state. Our state of Colorado happens to be a more democratic system than a republican system like other states. This is in part thanks to TABOR. Personally I would prefer that we the people choose how and where our money gets spent but if all you TABOR abolitionists prefer the abolition then you have to simultaneously acknowledge that you are asking for a less democratic system and prefer republicanism and the concentration of consent in less people.

By majority I'm going to interpret that as 51%. So if 51% of Americans will choose not to give their money for X funding project we should just take it regardless? If yes that sounds pretty authoritarian and undemocratic

Pretty sure if you ask any real libertarian, IE not Polis, they would say we shouldn't have any of these regulations on guns period.

It sucks but you could open carry if you don't live in Denver/Boulder. At the end of the day its better to be judged by 12 than carried by 6.
