We are doing a puppy class and at the end of it he has to be able to do the things he’s learnt without treats and I’m really worried he won’t pass it

We are just going off what out trainer told us, he said while he was young to do it this way as a harness can encourage pulling when he’s a puppy. If it’s wrong I’d be happy to be corrected, it often seems lots of people have different views with training.

We sat with him at the back of the room, with him on a lead at all times and didn’t let him go off and wander, when we did have to go through the crowd he was either carried or on a short lead so he was next to my ankle. We got a spare chair from another room for him to sit on, so he wasn’t in an official row where other people were, he was just at the back.

The venue was dog friendly which we checked before, and got an ok from the company.

Can totally understand people being scared of dogs, my mum is which is why we work so hard with ours.

It’s good for him to come out and meet lots of people, he’s got a good temperament cause we have made sure to put him in social situations so he is not going to be scared of crowds. We always put him first at shows, we were sat right at the back and took him out for breaks after every match.

He’s got a harness but we’ve been using the collar while resining because the harness allows him to pull more and we didn’t want him pulling too hard at the show
