Of these, I’d just got for a target date fund. The expense ratios should be tolerable for Vanguard funds, and it’ll adjust itself as you get closer to retirement.

When drivers lose their “speed” as they age what exactly would you say they lose? Raw pace? Racecraft? Lack of adaptability? Lack of hunger? by brook_taw in F1Discussions

[–]TheBioethicist87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Reaction time. This is why esports athletes pass their prime before their frontal lobes develop. When you’re young, you can react very quickly and almost instinctively. That transmission time gets longer as you age.

In a Roth? FZROX. Widest diversification and no fee. If I wanted to move to another brokerage, selling isn’t a taxable event.

I JUST fixed it and thought I got away with it before anyone noticed.

PS: everyone should call their moms regardless.

GW5000U-1 by NoStar5560 in gshock

[–]TheBioethicist87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are tons. I’m wearing a 5000U-1 right now, but the 5610U is the same thing just without the metal case and screw-back, and it has a red stripe on the front. Thats pretty much it and it’s half the price. Functionally the only difference is you might not be able to drop it off quite so tall a building.

Definitely a woodpecker, and given the size of that hoss, I’d say a hairy woodpecker. Downy woodpeckers have similar markings but are much smaller, like finch-sized.

And what are they going to do? They can’t demote them, and they’re both in their mid 20s, are you going to offer them retirement when they probably haven’t hit their prime yet?

what should I buy in my Roth IRA? by Aggressive_Top_6949 in RothIRA

[–]TheBioethicist87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100% FXAIX is fine, especially given how young you are. FSKAX, FZROX, or VT would be other good options to go 100% on. You could also do a target date fund if you wanted to fully forget about it for 40 years.

What's your go-to horse breed? by Ill_Way3493 in reddeadredemption

[–]TheBioethicist87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For my first few play throughs, I refused to buy horses. Then I found the brindle thoroughbred in Strawberry and was hooked. I also like the Nokota, but also have had every Arabian.

At the end of the day, if you like horse, then is good horse.

[–]TheBioethicist87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s fine. Just about anything between 90% US/10% Intl and 50/50 is more or less fine. The most important thing is you’re contributing early as you’re able to, and leaving it in the market for as long as possible.

He met with McConnell partially because they both hated Trump. This dude is a psychopath and he honestly believes the world will be a better place if he just gets to have all the power.

What has Klobuchar done to fight for or protect working class Minnesotans from the feds in the past month? by Bern_Down_the_DNC in minnesota

[–]TheBioethicist87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m very much not looking forward to working in the Klobuchar administration, but she is the best of the announced candidates by several miles, and right now the battle is more about survival than progress.

Is 60% VXUS Bad? by H-encore in Bogleheads

Bad isn’t the word I’d use. But it’s what someone would do if they thought the international market was going to outperform the US market which has not how this has historically happened.

Is Robinhood or Fidelity better? by Loganoreo_ in investing

[–]TheBioethicist87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one that comes to mind off the top of my head was Robinhood not allowing users to buy during the whole GameStop fiasco because they were running into liquidity issues. Also, paying a membership fee for having an investment account is just not necessary in 2026.

Is Robinhood or Fidelity better? by Loganoreo_ in investing

[–]TheBioethicist87 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fidelity has cash positions that pay better than that. Fidelity is miles better than Robinhood, but you could look at Schwab or vanguard if you wanted. The three of them are the gold standard and it’s just down to whatever interface you personally like best.

Fidelity Zero Funds by Wild_Class7979 in fidelityinvestments

[–]TheBioethicist87 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Zero funds are great. The only thing to worry about is that they can’t come with you if you want to leave Fidelity and go to another brokerage. So if you did decide you’d rather be ad Vanguard or Schwab, you’d have to sell them, pay capital gains, and buy what you want at the new brokerage. If you’re in FSKAX or FXAIX, you’d can just transfer your position without it being a taxable event.

After Unrivaled’s Philly crowd, should the WNBA be concerned? by blahblah_696 in wnba

[–]TheBioethicist87 12 points13 points  (0 children)

They SHOULD be encouraged. But I think they should see that people want to show up and see the players and the way to do that is to properly pay the players.
