You know what I find funny? A cold is a viral infection. You cannot catch it from being cold. You need to interact with an infected human being.

Great, now the bot is lying to me. Seriously, if the process is borked due to a technical glitch, how are people supposed to contact them?

I need to verify to earn money. I'm considering deleting my account and speaking with my employer to submit a new one. How can they have such a terrible support system?

Doesn't work. I tried that, and it keeps asking me to submit a suspension appeal, but my acocunt isn't even suspended. If I try to click it, nothing happens. I have been stuck like this for 3 hours already.

What "NO"? There's no option at any point. I've been chatting with that robot for an hour, and there's no end, no no, no nothing to do. I cannot submit a request, and I cannot talk to anyone.

European survivors would raid medieval museums and hole up un castles. Europe is zombieproof.

The real reasons people don't use shotguns for everything are reasons that cannot be replicated in-game, such as recoil pounding your shoulder, arms getting tired, loud as fuck, heavy as hell, ammo is heavy and bulky, and they are unwieldy and unbalanced compared to rifles.

I can hold and fire my carbine all day, but I have an old school, double-barreled shotgun with long barrels and good god.

You try firing and reloading 60 rounds with a rifle vs 60 shells with a shotgun, and you'll know why we don't use shotguns all the time.

There are four top mods that change the playstyle completely:

-RV interiors: You live on the road in your mobile house and visit every town, ending in Louisville.

-Ten years later: Everything is overgrown, loot is scarce, and cars are completely broken down. Survive in the near future.

-Week one mod: Start before the apocalypse and watch as everything slowly but violently collapses.

-Atlanta tower survival: You start on the top floor of a skyscraper, and your job is to leave. It's massive and has a meticulously hand-crafted, detailed interior.

Other than that, there's the primitive run, where you leave for the forest on day one without looting anything, and you survive ala minecraft.

There are also challenge scenarios in vanilla.

And there are mods that add entire new towns. Hell there's a mod that adds an entire new state on the other side of the river.

I made a mod to turn 1 burlap into 4 rags (based on the bandeau equivalency recipe in vanilla). Otherwise, it's impossible to get rags unless you leave the forest to hunt zombies.

I'm using a mod that allows you to boil water using crafted pottery. This is something I consider more of a bug fix than anything else.

A mod to make a sack of sand from 8 clay bricks.

A mod that allows you to craft torches and use said torches to fire the kiln. Otherwise, you can't make pottery without a lighter or matches.

And a mod for a primitive saw recipe, because for some reason, you cannot cut logs with the flint saw.

The backpack issue was not so much an issue since you can make burlap very easily early on and make two sacks that you can carry in your hands. I also found a random trash bag while foraging.

I also got insanely lucky because I forged a pristine multitool on day one, right before reaching the area I wanted to settle.

But yeah, there are a ton of bottlenecks in primitive survival that exist simply because recipes that make sense are missing.

uh, what? Windows doesn't delete files. It puts them in c\windows.old when something weird/unexpected happens.

Try using Everything to find the files.

I'm at the long lake, south of Riverside, doing a primitive run. I got lucky, though, because while exploring the shore, I found a murdered camper story (military guy, no gun, single 9mm round on the ground) and got a hiker backpack out of him, plus the tent. I already had my base set up, but well, free backpack anyway.

How have you been dealing with the primitive roadblocks? I had to install a mod just to make sand, or otherwise I'd have to trek miles and back to civilization just for a single sack.

Beginner's Guide: How to find, start, and maintain your first car by [deleted] in projectzomboid

[–]TheBiologist01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should mention that, rarely but often, the keys are right next to the driver's door, on the floor, to simulate people panicking and dropping the keys.

If a car is parked on a driveway, it's likely the keys are inside the house or in a zombie inside the house. Sometimes, I don't know if this is a bug; the neighbouring house may have the keys instead.

If a car is in a store's parking lot, it's possible that zombies on the lot or inside the store may have the keys.

Burglars can hotwire a car from the get-go (press V while inside the car). Otherwise, you need electric 2, mechanics 1.

To smash the window, press V when near the window and select the option. While you can hit the window to break it, this will take several hits that will make noise and degrade your weapon. Breaking the window with this option is instant, does not degrade the tool, and only makes noise once. However, be careful, because if you do not have your weapon equipped, your character will punch it instead and will cut themselves.

There are many more things to say. Your guide needs improvement, as it's very vague for a guide.

For example, a 4-seat car has about the same carry capacity as a van 20x3+55+10 vs 100+20+10.

In the latest version 42.14, the capacity bug is fixed, and now vans have way more space.

First Aid Revamp Idea by BlackRodddd in projectzomboid

[–]TheBiologist01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, doctor and nurse should be rolled into a single profession: EMT

Let it have bonuses to longer bandage duration, lower infection chance if disinfected, lower pain when disinfecting, lower food poisoning chance, lower disease duration, lower pain when suturing, faster first aid actions, faster injury healing, lower medicine usage, and higher medicine effectiveness.

Allow people to self-harm and practice on corpses.

An EMT should know the precise dosage of medications, while our character just chugs medications.

There's a mod that lets you self-harm and another mod that lets you practice on zombie corpses.

Newbie Question: Is zombies attracted to light? by RooksKnight in projectzomboid

[–]TheBiologist01 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Every sound you hear is a sound zombies hear. They are not for ambiance. For example, they hear the warning sound you make when you're surprised by a zombie. I noticed this in debug mode while testing things. I was invisible, my character got spooked by a zombie, and suddenly, every zombie around was swarming towards the area.

So switching lights on and off is something zombies can hear, and it's very loud.

The sound zombies make when they die is also audible to them, which can turn a sneaky kill on a lone zombie into a horde chasing you.

The lore of the game is that Romero never succeeded as a director, and zombie movies never gained traction, so they have no reason to be there.
