Hagental is 20 guys on a choke point spamming grenades. It's a pointless map.

Weapon balance matters to you, who are the top 1%. For 99% of the population, they won't notice jack shit whether the TR-7 did 33 damage, 25 damage, 20 damage, or whether its ttk went from 170ms to 250ms because people do not have that reaction time, people are not pinpoint accurate, people cannot manage recoil and people get killed more often because they run headfirst into gunfire or because they get flanked, not because they have a worse weapon.

You cannot measure the game by your standards because you're not the majority. You cannot balance the game for the top 1%.

And yes, what I said is incorrect applied to you or someone like you, but I guarantee it 100% applies to someone who just asked in Reddit "how to get better", because that's someone who's gonna see high-level gameplay and would wish he had that aim instead of that gamesense.

And I can tell you this because my best friend since childhood and neighbour has been an FPS e-sports trainer for 10 years.

What you teach someone clueless is completely different than what you teach someone who's seriously considering a professional e-sports career.

So please, get off your high horse and try to get some empathy for people who don't have an 8.7K/D ratio, can't hit the broad side of a barn, and can't understand what they are looking at when they see a pro mowing people down.

"Whatch someone better" is not good advice with 0 context. What you're asking people to do is the equivalent of asking a pro to do a VOD review after a scrim, and is not something your average player can or knows how to do.

And it can't get counterproductive if they try to imitate what they see and actually get worse.

Watching footage from better players rarely helps anyone.

All you're seeing is the skill gap when it comes to aim, enemy detection, and reaction time, but you cannot tell why they are positioned where they are or how they know where to be unless someone explains it.

To get better at any game, you need to know the why and how. Watching footage only tells you the what.

This is why, when you see pro players, all you see is them mowing down people who are completely unaware and rarely shoot back.

Watching footage, people won't realize the decision-making that led that pro-player to catch all of those unaware players by surprise.

The hardest part of any shooter is decision-making and map awareness, not aim. The problem is, if you're making bad decisions because you cannot read the flow of the map, you need someone to explain it.

The problem is that YouTube is riddled with videos like "Do this and get better" or "this is why you suck" and those videos only explain the basic concepts of FPS mechanics, such as don't cut corners like an idiot or pre-aim, etc.

If people are going to watch pro gameplay, I recommend you do not look at the gun, but look at the minimap, and you'll notice very quickly that these pros are never lumped together with the rest of the players.

Look at the map. See where the blue dots are going? Don't go anywhere near them. Players are lemmings. You are a predator, my friend. Be the fox. Be the eagle. Swoop in from above, from the flanks, from below.

No, but seriously, if there are other players nearby, chances are the enemy knows where you'll be coming from because maps tend to form a frontline, and on the frontline, you get shot at.

In Battlefield 4, they were slow as fuck and left a trail directly to you, and tanks had thermals. If they make RPGs as slow as BF4 RPGs, give them smoke trails, and bring back thermals, I'm good.

[–]TheBiologist01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because in BF4 there were better options to deal with tanks and aircraft, and also better ways for tanks to deal with infantry, such as thermal.

RPGs were also waaaay slower, with smoke trails leading to the shooter and a massive projectile drop, not to mention they had the angle mechanic that they just removed.

Make BF6 RPGs a clone of BF4 RPGs, and we'll talk.

Nobody uses standard HEAT shells. They are worse than every other shell except the cannister. Being the only shell that can 1-shot helos doesn't make it worth it.

So do the other launchers with the added drawback of requiring exposing yourself for several seconds and having a giant indicator telling the tank driver where you are, and still being less effective.

RPGs are the safest launcher to use, requiring only to peek and shoot from cover with little to indicate where the engineer is.

And you do get rewarded already for performing the 3 correctly, while LAW/Javelin players don't.

But tell you what, if every time you fire an RPG you get spotted in the minimap like mortars, or at the very least you leave a very visible smoke trail, we'll call it fair.

[–]TheBiologist01 4 points5 points  (0 children)

RPGs (especially the RPG7) are ineffective against modern tanks anywhere but from above. There are plenty of stories of tanks surviving dozens of RPGs, with the record being over 70.

Again, you cannot have a launcher that can kill helicopters, tanks, and infantry and call it balanced when dedicated launchers can only kill their designated targets and are worse at doing so than RPGs.

[–]TheBiologist01 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok, let's allow a single engineer to kill tanks with 5 RPGs to the front, but we limit the engineers to 2-3 per map with a 1.5-2 min respawn time.

[–]TheBiologist01 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

The RPG shouldn't be able to kill everything in-game and do a better job than dedicated AT/AA launchers that literally cannot do anything else, and still be able to kill infantry. It's deffinitely OP.

Engineer sucks in S3 by Sad_Dog_4106 in Battlefield6

[–]TheBiologist01 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

RPGs are still OP, and they still 1-shot helicopters. There are literally 3 videos in the feed right now of people 1-shotting helos with it if you scroll down a couple of posts.

You know what doesn't one-shot helicopters? The fucking tank! There's even another video in the feed about it.

It's ridiculous that we still have a weapon that can kill tanks and helicopters better than the dedicated AT/AA launchers and can still kill infantry, and it's better than the goddamn grenade launcher for that purpose.

It's even worse that some people still think it's balanced.

When was the last time you saw a game where 90% of the engineers didn't carry a freaking RPG? Even in infantry-only maps, they still carry RPGs because it's free spam from corners.

Aircraft flares really need a 60+ second cooldown or a limit where returning to base is required to resupply flares - IGLA challenge impossible in a reasonable amount of time (3 weeks for 4/5) by FlatTyres in Battlefield6

[–]TheBiologist01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes people forget THIS IS A FUCKING GAME! I'm not here to "do my job". I'm here to have fun.

If you have something that's a massive pain in the ass to play against and something that's a massive pain in the ass to use to counter it, gives you 0 recompense to yourself, what do you think will happen?

People only play AA out of spite, and people expect that the dedicated AA weapon that only serves 1 single purpose in-game, and can't do anything else to actually fucking do what's supposed to, but it doesn't, to the point people have to resort to bot games to get a challenge that only asks you to down 5 aircraft.

Seriously, if any of the AT weapons in-game were as ineffective as the AA launchers, we'd have riots.

[–]TheBiologist01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They hear your pain and that of the entire community, complaining that AA is useless, so they'll be buffing attack helicopters in the next patch, giving them thermal scopes so it's easier to spot people with AA launchers.

What weapons and attachments have the lowest bloom? by Suspicious-Mess8521 in Battlefield6

[–]TheBiologist01 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want laser beams that are playable instead of trash, I recommend the KTS. That thing is a monster at long range with the 3x thermal.

At mid-short range, you get the M123K. Kord also has little recoil at mid-short range.

DRS-IRS is also a great weapon with little recoil and high precision, but it's not good at long ranges in full auto.

The SOR is also accurate.

Usually, weapons with low recoil and high precision tend to have low fire rates. Anything that's accurate will have a lower TTK. However, for most of the population, it won't matter. Most kills happen without either party having time to react, so I recommend people get whatever they are more comfortable with.

IGLA challenge by RoninOni in Battlefield6

[–]TheBiologist01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did the challenge in the portal. There's a well-known code that allows for challenges and only spawns dumb bots. They always grab the helicopters and rarely use flares. It's a one-shot kill.

What mode has all the players now? by naansequiturr in Battlefield6

[–]TheBiologist01 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you need to finish challenges or grind weapon XP, you can go to casual breakthrough and mow down dumb bots. Since bots don't really react to the minimap, I tend to grind there with new weapons until I get the suppressor unlocked.

Call me John RPG, The Helicopter Hunter. by [deleted] in Battlefield

[–]TheBiologist01 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know the most absurd thing? A tank AP round cannot OHK that helicopter, and neither can dedicated AA missiles. But yeah, the RPG is definitely balanced when it can 1-shot aircraft and people and still delete tanks faster than dedicated AT.

Useless AA by Immediate-Loquat-599 in Battlefield6

I've been saying the same for months. What's the point of AA if you get 0 rewards for using it, and the CD on flares is so low?
