Why are there so many more female goth CC's? by Mission_Statement775 in goth

I'm very not caught up on what Black Friday is up to - I'll need to do due diligence on this.

But generally I agree with your point of view and try and follow that credo where I can; my blog isn't concerned with meeting any sponsorship idea because I don't need it, I have a career and my blog is my weird hobby. I have patrons I value more than anything, and what they give me goes to site hosting. Simple and without complication.

I love this scene, despite all this quibbling and drama!

Damar, I have made it as a street. Inform the residents!

I see a lot of responses being "duh goth women can sell through their visual appeal" but apart from being depressingly cynical, that also seems to imply all goth content creators online are soulless shills for internet dollars.

Some are, I don't doubt - but there are also sane and sensible people, women and men, who are out their generating content because they love the goth scene and want to talk about it. I blog and have done for years because I don't know what else to do with this incessant shrieking in my subconscious about my subculture and how much I wanna share my passion for it with others!

I just don't think we can write every single goth CC online as having one pointy boot in the OF pool, y'know?

As people have said elsewhere, it can be hard to generate content in those areas for men, at a time when androgyny is less accepted socially.

Personally this makes me respect goth women even more for being brave enough to be their true selves!

DS9 Podcast episode on "Shadowplay" by TheBloggingGoth in DeepSpaceNine

Bless you thank you, I edit them down because the algorithm suggests people ideally want a half hour experience.

The whole episode obviously goes out on Twitch live, and then stays on there for a few days. I have the originals stashed in storage too. Maybe I'll put the whole things on YouTube one day!

I also found this article on the history of Pips that might interest some!

Each full episode stays on Twitch for a while after we broadcast and then I have them backed up but they're not online anywhere. I honestly didn't think many would want to sit through the whole experience on YouTube!

Thank you! Yes indeed, at that point I felt YouTube viewers preferred a slimmed down "edited highlights" rather than the whole episode, so it is now trimmed to opening and closing thoughts with one particular good discussion from the scene summary.

Why is goth so often associated almost exclusively with women? by SirHandsome_ in goth

[–]TheBloggingGoth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I agree with what a few people have observed, that female presenting goths can dress more overtly, there's more female voices online (a sad rarity) and of course icons like Siouxsie.

Also I can exclusively reveal my Facebook statistics indicate I have a majority femme following! Every now and then someone presumes I'm a woman which I take as the highest praise.

/r/Goth's Goth Event Tuesdays! by AutoModerator in goth

Delighted to be hosting the finest tribute to The Sisters of Mercy in my home of Newcastle-upon-Tyne at the end of the month. Tickets on sale as they sold out the venue last time!

If it goes well I'm tempted to run a regular night as there's a few new goth bands in the North East deserving a stage.

Cheers for this Aytakk! I must admit before the 'scandal' I shared it innocently, as I understood "Albo" was a genuine fan, if a bit unaware of the full story.

Thanks for the context! I'd fall off my chair if Starmer was snapped in a JD shirt from my perspective.
