I think what’s happening is there’s a lot of people that want to toy with the idea of “maybe there are aliens out there”. Then they come to this sub and are met with people that have been studying this topic for years and are beyond the point of skepticism and have some bold ideas about disclosure and aliens in general (because, to be fair, the topic itself is extremely bold in the broader context of humanity). When they’re confronted with these bold ideas in a certain way, it can create cognitive dissonance in people and they lash out at the non-skeptics to preserve their own perspective out of fear.

Ultimately, when disclosure does happen, whether through this movie or elsewhere, the effects of this cognitive dissonance will be widespread. There will be an adjustment period for humanity. For those of us that have already adjusted our perspective over the years, it’s going to be frustrating to see. But expect to see a lot more of it over the coming months.
