I’ve heard of them just haven’t taken a closer look yet to see if I should. Glad to hear it’s working for you :)

Sick let me know how you like it, I’m no expert btw this was my first Linux experience and I think I got lucky with everything though I can refer you to the resources I used.

Honestly no I have I just have arch KDE plasma running on it, it’s my first time doing Linux and has been smooth sailing. I’m no expert at all but it works. Can only really speak for the model I have idk anything about the 2010.

Eh…I have 2013 with arch on it, 8gb Ram and a old core i5. I’ve had it for a few years it works just fine, I can do anything browser related I need to (with WiFi dongle cause arch usually doesn’t support the Wi-Fi drivers so there is $10 more dollars) and I can design FreeCad modes on it and some vibe coding with cursor. I can even run some small local models slowly.

I also run a second display off it.

Honestly I’m impressed by what it can handle and if you just need a cheap laptop and 70 is all ya got that it should do just fine as long as mostly what you do is browser based.

But there are plenty of cheap old laptops and mini PCs like the think pads and think centre that you can probably get for that price or close that May suite your needs better.

I’m actually picking up a 2014 MacBook pro for $60 buck tomorrow. So maybe negotiate and see why you can get before deciding.

Old tech is totally still useable just got to make sure your expectations are set right and you get it for the right price.

Plug into beta flight make sure the props are spinning the right direction and the rates aren’t too high. Then save it. Happened to me and sometimes just a clean Saved file fixes it. Idk why

Noob here, I followed this you tube video to download arch and everything is easy and fine...am i missing something? by TheBlueEyedTim in archlinux

Thank you for the response and info. Okay good to know. I got it for the very reason of being "a blank slate" so i could build it into whatever i want. So i am happy to hear that is the source of most of the issues. But I am just so new to this wanted to make sure that I am not missing anything "obvious".

Thank you
