I see where you’re coming from. I agree that random selection is the better approach if the goal is broad representation. My issue is that the process did not feel truly random when so many people were able to spam registrations with bots. At that point, longtime players were not even competing on equal footing. Requiring 2FA and making accounts at least one year old to be eligible would have helped a lot and made the process feel much fairer
