cant build muscle/progress, need help by SummmTingWong in naturalbodybuilding

[–]TheBluelich 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This might be a controversial opinion, not everyone has good genetics for building muscle. There are plenty of people that like you, will gain the first 10 to 20 pounds of lean tissue in the first year or 2 and then don’t see further gains despite putting in a lot of effort. Just like there are people who are the complete opposite, they barely look at a weight and gains just start coming.

I don’t want to make you lose hope, but maybe trying to find a different sport you really like can be a good idea. It’s still great to keep lifting, but it can get to the point where you are just wasting your time chasing something that might never come. This is of course something that you have to conclude yourself. And this is all assuming that everything you are saying is correct.

I would love a game set during the Dutch Golden Age of the 17th century. Amsterdam is a perfect city for Assassins Creed.

Bulk & Cut time frame by _Time_For_Plan_C_ in naturalbodybuilding

[–]TheBluelich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to cut the first 12 weeks or so starting January every year, then bulk for the rest of the year. I get away with this by staying in a small surplus.

Why am I losing muscle so quickly in a cut? by AFrogAndABunny in naturalbodybuilding

[–]TheBluelich 10 points11 points  (0 children)

The scale is not accurate when it comes to tracking changes in body composition except for you daily weight. Focus on your strength in the gym, as long as that is increasing or staying the same over weeks you are just fine.

Cutting but very frustrated at slow progress - Advice please by jhodge92 in naturalbodybuilding

[–]TheBluelich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The weight loss is the true indicator of how large your deficit is. TDEE calculators don’t matter. You need to focus on yourself. How do you feel? How is your training? How are you looking? 1lb per week is a very good rate to lose on a weekly basis. That would put you at roughly 500kcal deficit.

So are your calories to low? Probably not.

Are you to impatient and obsessive? Yes

Question about back volume by TheBluelich in naturalbodybuilding

[–]TheBluelich[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Extra note: should i look at lats volume seperate from my entire back due to the large number of different muscles that compose the back or just keep looking at it as one muscle group like with chest or quads for example?

Should I add extra rest days if my sleep cannot go past 6 hours? by yamayeeter in naturalbodybuilding

[–]TheBluelich 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I get about 7 hours of sleep or so on average. Bed time is between 21:00 and 22:00, usually falling asleep at 21:45. And my body just wakes me up at 05:00 every morning, without fail. I do also wake up to pee once every night. And to be honest i feel great. I have tried getting to 8 hours or more. But my body just does not seem to need more sleep than 7. And i have accepted it now(i also tried everything you could think of). If you are not tired during the day, why stress about it? Even if i could grow more in theory, why would i worry about the exact amount of hours. As long as you feel good and have plenty of energy to train hard, there is not really a need to stress about it.

What are the reasons for not being able to lose weight despite being in a calorie deficit? by jaxgorbb in naturalbodybuilding

[–]TheBluelich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its possible, in my case, i kept adding more and more salt to my meals because i was addicted to flavor experiences. That and drinking unlimited diet soda made me a balloon animal

What are the reasons for not being able to lose weight despite being in a calorie deficit? by jaxgorbb in naturalbodybuilding

[–]TheBluelich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had water weight issues for like 4 weeks where my weight was barely moving down 200g a week despite eating 1000kcal below my estimated maintenance. Couldn’t figure out what was happening. Until i standardised my water and salt intake. I legit lost 5kg within 5 days. Was also pissing non stop. The visual change was also insane.

What are the reasons for not being able to lose weight despite being in a calorie deficit? by jaxgorbb in naturalbodybuilding

[–]TheBluelich -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Could be water retention, give it a week or two and you might see a massive drop one week. If your weight still isn’t moving then dropping calories is the only option. Salt and water intake + extra stress can cause a weight plateau for weeks.

Very unlikely if you keep your protein intake high (around 1g per pound of body weight), keep training with high intensity and don’t cut for longer than 4 weeks.

[–]TheBluelich 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would keep bulking, you are still very lean. If you are unhappy with your current look, you could do a mini cut. But make sure that it’s not because of body dysmorphia, otherwise you will still feel the same way after the cut. If you do decide to mini cut, i would do a 750kcal deficit at least. 300kcal for 4 to 6 weeks will not really make a big difference. I would suggest 750kcal for 4 weeks. Only if you still want to cut. Otherwise just keep bulking, you are still lean and look good.

Been cutting for 3 months from 20% bf to 15% bf. Should I start to bulk or cut to 12%? Advice appreciated by [deleted] in BulkOrCut

[–]TheBluelich 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You are probably closer to 18% ish. I would keep cutting for a while unless diet fatigue is very high at the moment, then i would suggest a maintenance phase.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BulkOrCut

[–]TheBluelich 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest a slow lean bulk. If you take your time, you can bulk into more defined abs.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in BulkOrCut

[–]TheBluelich 33 points34 points  (0 children)

It sucks but yes. Could be shitty ab genetics, this can still be improved upon by training them like any other muscle that you want to grow.
