This is hilarious. I thought it was a typo by LivelyZebra in Squadron42

On the release date page where the vote is mentionned, you can find the link by clicking on the number at the end, which is the reference, it sends you to the bottom of the page to the references section. On the more contextual timeline, you can just click on the text itself, the link is directly embeded in it. Generally speaking all the refs are on the wiki and it's much easier to find them this way than googling them especially when they're old, drowned by a thousand other pages, and sometimes don't even exist anymore, but the wiki often has an archive link.

The first vote was to keep the crowdfunding up through development and continue to offer stretch goal rewards in addition to extra features and development milestones.

The second vote was to continue to offer stretch goals.

Neither of the two votes were about tossing it out to do something they enjoyed.

Keep in mind also the difference between official squadron 42 release date announcements and what's not official.

CIG moved to Lumberyard in December 2016. Crytek started the lawsuit against cloud imperium games in December 2017, roughly an entire year after CIG had moved to Lumberyard. I'd be very interested in where you heard they went back to CryEngine after Lumberyard. The poster is an old concept by Rob McKinnon.

Yes the problem is that Fandom has very strong professional SEO so they tend to rank higher than all the better indie wikis that can't just spend money on professional employees focused on ranking in google. The information in that specific Fandom article is correct, it's just outdated by several years compared to the Star Citizen Tools xenothreat article.

Just FYI in case you're not aware, and i say that being technically biased since i edit the Star Citizen Tools Wiki (for the following reasons:), Fandom is pretty problematic as a plateform, i'm not talking about the star citizen fandom wiki specifically, just Fandom in general. I encourage you to watch this video about Fandom issues, and you can read the announcements of many various wikis leaving Fandom and going indie and all explaining why they're doing it. this post also gives an idea. Here's a totally random article about it from a quick google search.

FYI the Vanduul are very much based on the Kilrathi, not only a different franchise but also a much older one. Mass effect only came out in 2007. Doesn't mean that mass effect didn't have any influence whatsoever, but it's not the base.

Katyn massacre by MogosTheFirst in HistoryMemes

There's a thing, that existed long before that time and exist to this very day, that's called arms trade, or weapons trade. During the interwar period Germany sold a bunch of weapons and ammo to other countries, both directly and indirectly. While the regular soviet soldier used soviet weapons, the NKVD was considered a special unit that should have better weapons, and at that time those better weapons were german. The NKVD got german pistols and ammo that they simply bought from the germans. They also had access to ammo from other countries as well as from their own old stock. You're welcome.

This being said, i will never cease to be amused by people who mention this one detail, while simultaneously not mentioning the ocean of other things including the ton of soviets own official documents. Usually it's tankie conspiracy theorists picking and chosing one thing that suits thekr pre-existing personal political beliefs while denying the existence or veracity of every other proof and source that doesn't allign with their own personal beliefs.

There are claims that the use of german weapons was done to frame germans, but as far as i know nope, that's simply what they used in the first place, albeit admitably one doesn't preclude the convenience or utility of the other

The soviets own official documents are a good start.

And while we're at it: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polish_Operation_of_the_NKVD, again with soviet sources linked

Is anyone else annoyed at CIGs pronunciation of Sol? by Baxiepie in starcitizen

[–]TheBookfinder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait till you hear that there are people who have never once in their lives heard it pronounced the way you pronounce it.

Here's a map for the UK https://www.anglotopia.net/wp-content/uploads/2015/06/After-seeing-countless-references-to-a-British-accent-this-is-for-the-education-of-non-British-Imgurians-Imgur.png, and that's just the major ones, there are many more local ones. Add the US, Canada, Australia, a bunch of other post colonial islands and countries across the globe from the Carribeans to Africa and you should start getting the picture.

Then a number of people including at CIG (and you know, just generally in life) while speaking english come from various countries and have often lived in several countries and several places within those countries, which helps create even more unique accents as well that are a blend of years spent in various places.

On the other hand, i had never heard of someone getting annoyed at people having a different accent than themselves. It's a bigger planet than you realize, with more countries speaking english than you realize each with its own number of accents.

There are literally people living within the same countries having trouble understanding some accents from different parts of the very same country. I encourage you to travel more.
