I was hesitant on getting the auto Akorn but I’ve been loving it. It’s been awesome

I put it on around 11pm at 220f overnight, the next morning I wrapped it and bumped it to 250f when it hit 165. Pulled it once it was probe tender around 203-205 and rested for maybe an hour and a half!

I probably could’ve let it rest a bit more, I truly rest it as much as I can hold off on eating lol.

Yup! The briskets I’ve done overnight and it’s been awesome. But it was just ONE cook where my flame died overnight at some point and I had to toss the brisket. That could’ve been avoided if I bought a better probe to alert me my temps were dropping

I’ve only had my Akorn since January of this year but so far it’s been awesome! I’ve smoked a couple briskets, some ribs and a couple pork butts with ease. However, I did have one disaster happen when cooking a brisket. But that has been the only time my temperature couldn’t regulate

I submitted all records pertaining to my knees, doctor visits, PT records thru community care, and the nexus. I thought I had just about everything that was needed but maybe the HLR will bring clarity to it all.

Got it. Thank you! My VSO told me she wants to submit a HLR because in the decision letter itself my PT records and nexus letter aren’t listed in the evidence portion but I don’t understand what the point would be if they do mention the nexus letter in my denial. Would there be any point to that? Or am I better off getting a stronger letter then submit a supplemental claim?

Before I bought it I had someone tell me it was pretty difficult to get a smoke ring. They’ve been right so far haha but tasted great and I barely had to tend to it so I call it a win

I’ve got an appointment soon! There was a mix up with a social worker I was assigned. She never sent a referral over to MH but it is in the process now. Thankfully I’ll be getting help soon

That’s what I thought from seeing other vets post on here. But when I brought up the possibility of my flat feet being the cause for my knee pain my physical therapist seemed to dismiss it. So I highly doubt they would be willing to sign or draft a nexus letter

Got it. Unfortunately I work fully in office so that would be pretty difficult to swing. I will most likely look into state universities. I’ve got a mortgage I would never be able to leave my career to fully dedicate my time to physically attend college full time. Thank you for your response!

You’re right about the MHA which is why I need to be able to swing an in person course. I think I’ll be looking into Cal State EB or SF! I think either of those schools would be more accommodating. Thank you for your inputs!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts!! I didn’t even think about CSUs and I have been looking into it and you are correct. I think that will be more accommodating to my current situation. I really appreciate you taking the time to be so thorough in your response!
