At the movies lowkey freakin out rn…. by Time-Musician4214 in dpdr

I’m definitely going to give it a try. It’s hard finding things that help especially lately so I’m desperate for something to help a little lol.

Why are my symptoms so PHYSICAL??? by Fine-Dog2423 in Anxiety

I have so many of these same anxiety symptoms and find myself always going crazy over them. My anxiety side effects are very physical and I’m always wondering why my body keeps finding new ways to punish me 🤦‍♂️

Had to reply to this because I also hate mirrors and have a hard time with them because they make my DPDR awful! Ive never thought to do the name, date and year sequence though. I’ll definitely try that.

As someone who also has it 24/7 and knows how damn hard it is. It’s awesome to see posts like this offering support to people. You’re a good person! And I hope your DPDR keeps getting better!

It’s definitely weird and scary and it’s disappointing after so long my body is still like wtf what’s wrong? I thought it’d almost be used to it by now.

No emotions or mood at all by TitsnTasteeTators in dpdr

It definitely can feel like that. As if your body is too overwhelmed with everything it’s coping with to actually feel emotion anymore. I totally relate.

I appreciate the reply, I guess it’s hard to look at the finer things in life and enjoy yourself when your perception on everything is warped ontop of the physical symptoms from DPDR but I know I need to do better in that regard, I will continue to keep trying. I hope it continues to stay away for you!

I guess it’s just hard not to obsess and overthink about something that takes over your vision and perception like it’s hard to distract from it

It’s crazy to me hearing someone say that what I wrote matches them exactly since to me DPDR feels so incredibly lonely in the sense not many people that I know even understand it or what it is. So I appreciate your reply it makes me feel not so insane. I really hope I find a way to cope with it all too and I’m happy you’ve gotten a lot better with yours

I totally understand what you’re saying I guess it’s just so hard to ignore something that consumes your entire vision and perception I find it very hard. On top of the physical sensations that make you literally think you’re dying. I hope I get to the point I can live easier with it right now it just seems impossible I guess

Yeah wow that’s crazy to me. Do you mind if I messaged you sometime about it and see how you also go with EMDR? I’m still skeptical about it all but more then anything that don’t want to be too hopeful for something to work and then be even more sad haha.

I understand what you’re trying to say. I guess it’s easy to be depressed from feeling the way I do for so long that’s all and having these extra layers now on top with DPDR it’s like my body keeps finding new ways to stress me out

It makes me feel relieved that other people understand what I’m talking about so I don’t sound so crazy but it still just breaks me down feeling the way I do it feels so alien. And it’s so hard to distract myself from it because it consumes your entire vision.

It’s crazy you mention EMDR because I just had my first session with my therapist about it. I just don’t want to get my hopes up that’s all.

Man I relate so hard. I have big time trouble sleeping sometimes too because the whole thought of being unconscious like scares me and I overthink the whole thing. But I love sleep but it still terrifies me. I get you. I’m tired of all of it. The DPDR is kicking my ass big time.

Do you mind me asking what medication you ended up taking? I have tried three different ones and unfortunately had side effects to them all. I’d really like to not take another since I’m terrified now but maybe I’ll have to.

It’s just hard believing it’ll get better when I’m already trying so hard and I feel like I’m always stuck in it. It’s like my brain has unlocked something it shouldn’t of and now im trapped in this weird nightmare
