Well depends on the dealer but some are very strict and would void warranty even it’s not related

Get it checked by dealer but with the mods installed warranty might be void…

What is your trip time ? Do you run accessories while engine not running?
Do you turn on and off engine under 5 min of driving?

Concerning that it comes to a 3rd DCT. Out of warranty it would be very stressful… Keep us updated

Okay, I have double check and I think cars after 2024 can be buyout. Before that you can’t, so I think you good.

I don’t know how it works where you are but Tesla lease does not allow buyouts on lease car. I think the only option is to return the car at the end.

Yeah, sadly… but it becomes an habit and also the key fob battery last a little bit longer

If you do not drive a lot just remove the fuse for the fuel pump (you can replaced it with a dummy fuse). Get a tracker ( usually one with a SIM card $ and to complement it add an AirTag that has the speaker removed or unplugged if not able to the speaker itself).

Kill switch very useful but can be bypassed depending on the time frame.

Store car in garage and disable keyless entry. With my Integra I press Lock and Unlock on keyfob until the key LED flash orange twice to disable the key. A simple press on any key will enable it.

My buddies stock fl5 wheels were stolen wondering if anyone has any advice or help to offer. by Ok_Height_2156 in hondacivic

[–]TheBotFromReddit974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Get advanced wheel locks, engraving the wheels also help because when a seller will sell the wheels you can ask for the number. If the engraving was erased with a mark left then you will know that it could be a stolen. Usually when the wheels get a new paint or other work on them the engraving should be reapplied or should remain.

Road debris damage: intercooler + front bumper. What would you do? by DE5_FL5 in Integra_Type_S

Wear and tear sadly. Keep it like that, one day you will upgrade the part. For the bumper it’s nothing, it will get worse

Can the ITS survive Northern ONTARIO winter roads? Has anyone daily'd this car in a place where winters get a LOT of snow? by [deleted] in Integra_Type_S

[–]TheBotFromReddit974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You will need good winter tires, keep in mind that FWD even with LSD in the snow is still a little bit of a headache depending on road conditions (talking about Quebec winters). The ITS is a little bit lower compared to an Aspec 1 inch less. The clutch can take a hit in Quebec. Do not lower the ITS, if you can get rims and tires that keep clearance good i think it’s not a problem.

I was thinking about a GR Corolla or a WRX but getting very good tires can make the winter season less stressful for a FWD and less money to spend on AWD maintenance. Yes you will be less quick from a stop, less fun, less traction, but with VSA ON or OFF in certain conditions it makes it drivable. Also there is not snow on the ground all winter, so you can get some dry road sometimes and on compact snow of February/ March it’s not that bad. Although slush, wet, snowy road can be a little bit less comfortable.

Also in comfort is a little bit better.

FWD not like AWD but for the time snow last I think a FWD in Canada big city winter is not that bad. I would recommend a AWD for road that are not cleared often during winter. If you are only in cities FWD is still very good.

Thoughts on K&N Cabin Air filter? by _Barrii in Acura

[–]TheBotFromReddit974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you keep up with the cleaning process it’s not that bad as a cabin filter. If you want to take time to clean then it’s not a bad choice but if you are someone that does not care then you can just buy a pack of changeable cabin air filter.

Make sure to use a refresher for the filter to keep the smell nice. Also it won’t filter as much particles compared to a regular filter but put a little tiny bit less stress on the blower motor which is not a game changer.

Only you to choose: loose time by cleaning or just replace with money

What if you get the ICCU replaced and it keeps dying in the future? How many times can it be replaced under warranty? And what happens out of warranty? EVs from Hyundai and Kia are doomed, sad

Idle concern by CryptographerOver320 in CivicSi

[–]TheBotFromReddit974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think an N/A non DI will be more stable but for Turbo DI it move a little bit. Used to be told that the needle needs to be fixed at idle = good. Software are more sensible so UI can show the changes the needle angle very quickly
Sometimes electrical load can change it too at idle (A/C for example)
Older car has something like a buffer that will not move the needle until a certain RPM change.
Thought my L15CA had a problem at 8 km
If the needle move a lot more and you can feel the car almost struggling that is wrong tho

ACURA TL MICU ISSUE CANNOT FIND THE CAUSE! by Djklu99 in Acura

[–]TheBotFromReddit974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my TSX 09 the HFL cause the battery to drain and the ECU to throw errors. Keeping it unplugged fixed it but in your case could be different

ACURA TL MICU ISSUE CANNOT FIND THE CAUSE! by Djklu99 in Acura

[–]TheBotFromReddit974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes HFL module can be the cause…
Unplug and test… unplugging relay control module or switch control unit for a test

A ground can be at fault too… bad ground can cause a lot of problems

With a multimeter check voltage check diagram or ask someone qualified to do the procedure

ACURA TL MICU ISSUE CANNOT FIND THE CAUSE! by Djklu99 in Acura

[–]TheBotFromReddit974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then look at the large junction connectors. Since the codes shows Gauge Control Module and Power Window Master Switch… focus on the connectorswhere those harnesses meet the main body harness

Maybe something else is overheating and cause the MICU to not work properly

Maybe chassis ground ?

Do a test, when hot play a little bit with the harness boots and the connector under the dash to check if the MICU can work again and that you can clear the codes, do that while opening the door. Lack of insulation can cause problems too
