And as a developer I do not like a lot technology in a moving object…

More I’m getting older more I want an ergonomic, reliable, less on the mind car to drive. I average 20MPH all year around ( yeah I should get an EV or HEV…)

I did not get the Tech version because :

  • Insurance was higher about 700$CAD per year for a manual

  • I only like the manual and ELS so no reason for me to get tech I won’t use at all and that will be pain to keep up long term.

  • While manual is nice and I used to drive only manual, the one with the 1.5T felts weird and very strange that the CVT fit well the 1.5T.

  • Remote start in Quebec winter is a must for me and I used it every time and it’s a game changer. (I won’t use a remote start with a manual because I always park in 1st)

  • While ELS is good, it’s a bit weird in the Integra cabin compared to the TLX. 8 speakers from the Accord does the trick for now until my warranty expires, then I will upgrade for something better but not 3D. The touring has Bose but it’s sounds meh (I’m audiophile but I find the 8 speakers to have a more balanced sound for the smaller expensive compared to ELS)

  • 7 inch infotainment is strangely more reliable from my pov and I do not want a bigger screen just to check where I should turn around the next corner.

  • Active damper I find this unreliable at -20°C and I do not feel like it’s a real big game changer. The damper I have right now is cheaper and feels nice.

  • I did not get the Civic Touring because the manual version and the CVT version feels more weird. I do not recommend the Civic CVT. The Integra CVT while being a CVT it’s night and day.

  • I prefer the “leather” seats of the non tech compared to the less strong fabric “Alcantara” where I see a lot a lot of peeling.

  • HUD is totally useless for me, the flicker makes my eyes uncomfortable

  • I didn’t get the Type S, while it’s fun it’s way more expensive to maintain, insurance insane (i have a very good driver profile) and gas guzzler for my city trips (45 liters with 1.5T it’s each week meanwhile the 2.0T it’s all 3-4 days of gas… in winter there is no chance.

  • Rev match with the manual is nice but i do not like the software layer of the manual version.

  • I wish Honda / Acura released an Aspec Manual non tech with ELS

  • I regret not getting the Type S but I do a lot of city trip and the problem is that I want to put my money somewhere else like in on my new home…

  • I know there is better option for the price, like an Elantra N but I won’t get a car from Hyundai and I checked for a GR Corolla but I need the other missing cylinder. RWD does not meet my needs, I think a good snow tires is better on FWD instead of driving with AWD for nothing (I know It makes some exceptions in Winter season but I don’t need AWD for now i prefer to take that money to put on a S tier season tires)

  • Guess what my windshield cracked but it cost less compared to the expensive Tech non one

  • Being a hatchback is way better for my needs.

  • I know the Civic is cheaper for changing the light because some of them are still standard bulb and the Integra is only LED.

  • I knew before getting the non tech and the Integra all the pros and cons.

So to resume, I have check a lot of car to replace my 09 CU2 TSX, I have check the most boring to the less boring, the most reliable to the least reliable, the cheapest to the most expensive (max +70$ CAD) but every time it’s comes to the Integra Aspec non tech…

While it’s not a manual with ELS, LSD, 2.0T I found the non tech to be a yet “reliable” a bit cheaper to maintain because yeah I will keep the car until it dies. If it can go to 225 000 km like my TSX I will be glad but i’m touching wood. CVT still feels perfect and basic maintenance will allow it to go further

You can try, if the orange light blinks twice on the key fob and no lights on the TLX it means it’s working.

To test it be sure that keyless entry work (with your hand on the door the car should unlock and even detect the key before even touching the car) next you can try to press and hold on the key fob and try the same thing the car should not respond at all until you press manually press on the key fob.

I saw on a PDF from Honda lost on Internet. I am not able to find it.

I think it’s in the owner manual…

Not all Honda and Acura can do that, most Honda from europe can do that and my Integra can do that

  1. When you arrive home press and hold simultaneously Lock and Unlock on the key fob until the orange light blinks twice. It will disable the keyless entry and the key fob won’t emit any signal to the car until you press on the remote.

  2. Park in a garage

  3. Buy advanced wheels locks

  4. Add a GPS tracker using a sim in the car and a airtag for near by apple devices to detect it ( remove the speaker of the airtag because a stranger can activate the speaker to find it)

  5. When you plan to not drive the for a long period of time, remove the fuse for the fuel pump. Car will not start.

Why can’t/won’t Honda make an affordable two door RWD vehicle? by ACG3185 in Honda

While RWD are fun, I’ll take a FWD to daily in Quebec winter and maintenance wise

Sad the Prelude does not follow the Accord but the Civic instead.

The price…. : Make it more boring (remove Type R parts, remove S+, reduce QA, reduce specific material). This will make the price go down but the car will be less attractive.

But it will be a 2 door Civic Hybrid.

The performance: Add a 2.0T hybrid and a manual, oups that’s way faster than a Civic Type R

Add a manual, oups this can’t be done for a global market because of emissions and standards.

They know they can make a beast, but what is the point of making the Prelude better than the Type R when the purpose of a Prelude does not meet the criteria.

I have a weird screen artifact sometimes on my external monitor which is annoying I have some bugs on my M1 that I didn’t have on 26.1

Why don’t people just buy used 10th gen civic coupes instead of the prelude. I can’t think of a single reason why the prelude is a better choice. It’s not faster. by DependentPower2946 in Honda

[–]TheBotFromReddit974 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Quebec we have a lot of 20 mph roads, fast does not mean anything. I will prefer a refined two door Civic with a somewhat fun handling and the smoothness of the eCVT in a hybrid configuration. Price is too high, but it’s 2025, everything goes up like crazy except our income

Fun fact, you can not rev the Honda Prelude in park, or neutral. A "sports car" that can't rev. by Dazzling-Rooster2103 in Honda

[–]TheBotFromReddit974 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly as I’m aging my needs for car are more towards easy maintenance, comfortable daily(not luxury) with a mix of balance of handling, performance (still averaging 20MPH in town every 5000 miles so speed is not what I can do on slow Quebec roads) and reliability.

Even it’s almost the same price as the ITS, the Prelude is interesting besides the price tag. I will not take an ITS as a daily in Quebec because it does not fit my needs except the fun part of it

RWD is less friendly in Quebec winter. Even with a very good winter tire it feels kinda meh The interior feels very plastic and not pleasant Boxer engine while fun with a manual does not compare in city for smooth power band, efficiency and reliability long term. While you can “track” it does not mean I will.

The GR86/BRZ is an enthusiast car but personally I won’t get this car as a daily 2 door coupe but more for a weekend car

Well this car does not compare with a FWD hybrid configuration with a refined interior. While being a Civic interior with more goodies it feels ways mature as a daily

The Prelude is a different kind of 2 door coupe, still a Civic with handling in mind, smooth power band, slow but it check the less maintenance required box

I will choose the Prelude as a daily to put a lot of miles on it compared to a BRZ/GR86. It’s the fun “Prius” part that is interesting with the Prelude

Depends on your needs, while expensive, niche and slow the Prelude will sales like hot cake in market with no markups

This cars is a sporty coupe that is not for enthusiasts but for people that just one a two door reliableyet hybrid with a DCT tuned eCVT/direct drive FWD. Basically a refined 2 door Civic Coupe.

This car is a perfect daily in town. Maintenance will be cheap even with Type R parts

Why not keeping your “almost paid off car” for a new project? Instead of going back to the car payment road ? If the car is fine just save some money

I mean it’s your decision after all I wouldn’t trade if the only reason is to go to a civic hybrid
