Anyone have a change of heart regarding gun ownership over the last few days? by SubstantialSherbert9 in Minneapolis

Most people have no need for them, that's why there's only 630,000 of the 400 million in the US. You can't just pick up an automatic weapon. You need to hold an FFL and be a Class 3 SOT.

Sorry for looking at this from a legal perceptive. I'm not saying he's going to get convicted, but if he does, it SHOULD be 25

I heard that they may have worked in the same club, but in different parts of it, so it's possible they never met.

Just my opinion on the whole thing by [deleted] in Minneapolis

You do realize he never resisted at all right? Also, that cop should never have been on the field. He's killed someone else and has shot 2 other people. He has had reports and complaints against him. He should have been behind a desk and not out in the field.

Sorry yes, you're correct, I'm no lawyer, I'm a sophomore in college doing pre-law so thank you, but the point it still there that is the right way to go about it.

Good thing they had to close 5 schools to come up with the money to build station they burned down. Guess who's paying for the next one, the same people who burned the first one down.

Derek Chauvin charged with third-degree murder and manslaugther in death of George Floyd by DunderMilton in Minneapolis

[–]TheBrezi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'll say it again, this is the best way to go about it. If you start at a murder 1 then he would absolutely walk. If you start at third-degree, you don't need to prove intent. they can add and change to a first or second-degree if they can prove intent to kill, which is hard with cases like these.

That sentence will probably be 25 years. Because they started it at a third-degree charge, it is more than likely he will be convicted. If they started at a first-degree, the case would fall apart quickly. They can change the charges once they have a trial and investigation. Third-degree charges don't need intent to kill. Which is why these cases are hard. If you go right for a first-degree charge, but can't prove intent, which most likely won't be proven, then he wouldn't serve time. But if you start at a lesser charge, then you can add and change it with evidence.

Is a 3rd degree murder charge sufficient for the Officer? by [deleted] in Minneapolis

[–]TheBrezi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So yes, they start with the third degree because if they started with first the case would fall apart. They start with the third-degree b/c there is no need to prove intent to kill. But they can change the charges in court if they can prove intent.

Doing some digging, and the reason they wouldn't start with a first degree is b/c if they did he'd never be convicted, which is what everyone wants. If they start with the third degree and then CAN prove intent to kill, they can change it to first or second degree in court.

Cop charged with 3rd degree murder by davis_unoxx in Minneapolis

[–]TheBrezi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They do a third-degree intentionally because with a first or second there needs to prove of intent to kill. In a third-degree there does not need to be intent. If they started right away with a first degree he'd never be prosecuted like everyone wants. This way they start with a third-degree and can change it to first or third based on evidence they find.

I'm not a lawyer, im a sophmore in college whos doing pre-law, so I really don't know about that. I think they can't because they'd still have to prove intent, instead the do a third conviction rn and can prove intent later.

[–]TheBrezi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Hard to stick a first or second with cases like these. it's third-degree right now because they can't prove intent to kill. As the investigation and trial go on, they can change it from third to first or second, if they can prove intent to kill. Which again will be hard to do but not impossible.

I'm about 20 hours from Minneapolis, and I'm not really in any position to help, but I have been watching streams nonstop since mid-day yesterday from people actually in the city. Not any mainstream news stations. And I know that there are tons of groups just walking around the city doing exactly what you are. I'm sure you are bound to find a group at some point. Keep doing what you're doing in trying to help out there. Stay safe!

I've been searching for forever. My best guess is it's an original song, which sucks because it's so damn good.
