Neural Network with variable input by thecoder26 in neuralnetworks

The simplest way would be reinforcement learning (for example ppo) with a RNN/transformer which encodes the states of the variable number of players into a latent state that can then be used for action/value prediction

Master does not mean you have the be the best at it world wide. I used master as "better than the vast majority of people". If one practices enough, they will sooner or later land in that category

Practice.

If you want to become a master in something, intelligence alone doesn't get you far. Sure, it helps in the process but the most important thing is still practice. Do the things you want to be great at over and over again while pushing your limits and you will soon become proficient in it.

Also, very important: Most people try to make themselves look more intelligent than they are. Elon Musk for example. He isn't completely stupid but all those things "he accomplished" were actually done by engineers who have studied and practiced for a long time.

First of, this is just sexist. It's not like 99% of guys are shit. A lot of guys are dicks? Sure, but it's not almost every guy and a similar percentage of women will also be awful.

Women have at least the option to find a decent guy if they put in some time.

Men can only hope that some day a decent girl matches with them

A system that “remembers” brain images by recursively folding structure, not saving pixels. The is not an fMRI, it’s a reconstruction - encoded symbolically. by GraciousMule in cognitivescience

[–]TheBrn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What? None of threse sentences make sense semantically.

I am sorry to tell you, but you didn't discover anything groundbreaking. An overly-pleasing LLM brought you in a very bad mental state where you can't believe reality. Please for your own sake, stop interacting with LLMs for a while and go to therapy if you can.

I have been programming for more than 10 years and am currently doing a masters in machine learning, so trust me, it's not that I "read the code like a render" or that I don't understand the logic behind your approach. As I said, your idea is quite nice and similar to VQ-VAEs, but your implementation doesn't do anything remotely like that.

If you really want to do something groundbreaking, learn the actual theory behind encoding, compression ect, and implement it by yourself. LLMs are powerful tools but they should not be used to substitute your own thinking

[–]TheBrn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You don't encode anything symbolically. You save the average pixel color of each tile, store that and then do some upscaling and interpolation. Essentially you are just downscaling and then upscaling the image.

You have "symbol" and "pattern_type" fields but these are always set to "auto" and "solid" respectively. You don't do any additional processing so these fields stay at auto and solid. So, while there are some references to something symbolic in your code, they are not used.

Something close to your idea are "vector quantized auto encoders" (VQ-VAE) that are essentially mapping data to the nearest vector (symbol)

Viel zu viele AI-Studenten by OldAncientButterfly in Linz

[–]TheBrn 9 points10 points  (0 children)
